Colorado #3

off of the success of SkooliePalooza, i'd like to have another Colorado get-together.

Looks like last year's was early June, and that's good for me!

i've been looking at the map for dispersed camping (free). where we could all meet and there are tons of options.

staying away from stuff thats real close to denver because of crowds, here is a list of possibilites. I'm sure to miss some area, so totally open to suggestions.

free dispersed camping around:
Steamboat - Trapper lake and others
Walden - Gould
Lake Granby - stillwater pass
Aspen, Buena Vista, Gunnison - Taylor park and others
Creede - Silverton - alpine loop and others

any interest in a social boondock this summer?
some of those spots may still have snow in June!

any interest in working party?

any interest for this year?

what sayeth my fellow skoolies?

I'd love to, but my first "over the road adventure" is going to be Paige Arizona.
Plus, I haven't tested my bus on anything bigger than hills

Keep it on the Western Slope, and I'm in! Silverton is beautiful!

if we stick with early June -

that pretty much narrows it down to the weekend of June 2 or the weekend of June 9, as the following weekend is fathers'day.

lets get this party started!!

SkooliePalooza and all these other ones seem like a cool idea, but SkooliePalooza from what I saw the pictures was just flat land. I'm interested in going to some in or near the woods with water.

Never mind.... I see you're in NWA, so you know of the area I speak of

Trying to decide if I'm gonna run up to Joplin this weekend to pick up some shuttle bus seats...

Yeah, I derailed the hell outta this thread... I really need to cut back on the caffeine!

I love the Moab idea though I'd recommend a May date as by June the temps are usually in the 90's and a little rough on an old guy like me. The area is without a doubt one of the western wonders. There are several rv parks in the area and while their rates vary, they might provide a respite to those of us who don't want to dry camp in the heat. Jack

speaking of October...Denver is hosting the Solar Decathlon 2017. I'm building a skoolie out of building technology that I learned from the 2015 Solar Decathlon in California. It's all about sustainable living in small spaces off grid.

just saying...in case you want to change the dates.
