I looked for the Facebook group “Midwest Skoolie and Bus Meetup” without any luck.

Possibly I just don’t know how to use Facebook to find it. I really don’t Facebook much.

Lucky this December and January but that’s all going to change soon. About feb 1, if you are full timing in the north or northeast stock up on fuel. We are likely to go back to the pattern that brought us nearly record cold mid October through November. I’m those months the norms are much higher than Jan and feb.. so we could be looking at extended times with daytime temps of below 20.. and with the storm tracks somewhat missing us not a ton of snow but many cloudy days rendering solar useless..

The further west you go the less impact in respect to seasonal nirmals. Obviously going south results in higher actual temps but still will be below the averages.. even into Florida where rain will tend to keep things cooler than average.

Of course this is all speculative since the pattern is so volatile this year the accuracy index of 7 days plus is dismal for the Midwest ..

We are going to try to park in front of the big RV show at the state fairgrounds this coming weekend to share our skoolie. I bet the camping world people run me off.

there was an RV show here in columbus this weekend.. seemed like Camping world had that place locked up pretty tight as in camping world signs everywhere.. and not many other RV dealers in the convention hall.. of course it was indoors downtown so no real chance of a skoolie sneaking in..

the big RV dealer thats located at the old outlet mall on I-71 did have a few spots in the hall.. the nearest camping world is 20 miles away from this city...

they were in there wow-ing people with their "Low-payment" van cutaway RV.. im sure they probably finance it as long as a house...

When I start typing in the search bar it comes up first. Probably because I have searched before. As you can see all I got typed was mid. It should come up though. I'll try a link too, not sure if it will get you there.

Link. I'm not sure if a link from my facebook will work on yours.

Hey, I'm in Chicagoland. No bus yet, but I'd drive over there if there was a meet up planned.

Was at the Indy RV show last night w/ my wife and most of my kids (just missing the oldest). Middle son lost one of his gloves and we backtracked looking for it (never found it, though).

Anyway, didn't see any skoolies there, unfortunately. Camping World had a good-sized section, but the Mount Comfort RV people seemed to have the best prices and best quality (well, for an RV, anyway). Alas, no $1Mil+ Class A's - at least I didn't see any.

Lots of good ideas for layouts, but the paperboard walls just screamed "CHEAP!" My wife just kept muttering, "oh, that's interesting - but my boys would destroy this in a week!"

So, when and where are we going to get together??

So I was thinking to plan it at my house July 26th to 28th, but “somewhereinusa” pointed out that there was a get together at chain-o-lakes that weekend.

So I could keep it the last weekend in July at my house, or move mine to an earlier weekend In July.

What does everyone think?

Miltruckman its your party have it when its best for you. I am pretty sure you will have a good turnout either date you pick.

The gun and knife show might be in another pavilion. We are expecting 7 inches starting tonight so I will prolly have to cancel our trip to the rv show this weekend. Not that I couldn't make it but none the idiots around here can drive in it.

Plus no reason to get salt all underneath your bus either just to go to a show.

I can do any other weekend in July. Mumsywumsy isn't likely to attend so it would be just me. I would need to rum genny for AC though. It's pretty quiet.

This will be the first halfway significant snowfall of the season here in Indianapolis and I've observed that it takes at least 2 or 3 snowfalls before people stop driving like they are in the Indy 500....

Just got the notice that INDOT has issued a full call-out for their salt trucks and maintenance folks from Indy south. They'll be working "12 hour on / 12 hour off" shifts until sometime late Sunday (if the forecast holds).

It might be best just to stay off the roads....

latest weather guidance is a line from indy to wilmington oh is in the up to 7-8" range possinbl;e (4-8 is the spread the pretty boys are giving.. the models are pretty clear on the midrange amounts).. Dayton, cincy, columbus. are in the general 3-6" range.. colder temperatures will be present in the indy, dayton and columbus areas along I-70. vs the southern I-71 corridor..
