Ohio to Outerbanks

My bus is pretty slow and is really slow on heavy grades. Recommended routes from Ohio to Outerbanks? Fun stops?

If you come through the peninsula (Hampton) on I-64 ft Monroe is a favorite local spot for us. You can park very close to the beach, and we go to the ozzlefinch brewery and have a couple of beers then park overnight for free (we move the bus back to the beach park right after sun rise).

There is a camp ground on ft Monroe also if you need hookups. We’ll be up there Saturday/Sunday.
