What a blast from the past. I grew up there. Are you looking for a camping spot or a place to convert a bus? There used to be a county campground in Algonquin, I worked there...it's closed now. The nearest campground I'm aware of is a county park in Elgin, on Big Timber Rd. It's probably 20 minutes away.

We’re mosey-ing that way. I work for the next three weeks in lake in the hills. Looking for a spot to park that’s a little more rustic than your average RV park. We’d like to have somewhere nice to walk the dogs.

Small world. I grew up in LITH. There's a county park in Marengo, which is maybe 1/2 hour from LITH that might work for you. Marengo is fairly rural and I doubt it would be too crowded this time of year. The place in Elgin is also kind of in the country...at least for that area. I don't know anything about either of the parks, but it might be something to look into. There's not a lot of camping in that region. I think there's another place in Marengo or Union but I can't find a listing for it...I can picture it in my head though. I think it's a KOA.
