Nice, hope y'all have a blast!

i was really looking forward to this, but it looks like i'm not going to make it. the bus is in pieces and i'm waiting on parts. Best case scenario is that i'm ready early next week and make the last weekend.

if something changes sooner, i'll be on my way. Y'all have fun!

Good news: still on track for savings goals!

Bad news: couldn't find a way to make the logistics/financials work for Skooliepalooza.

Safe travels to all making their way out to Quartzsite. Hope everyone has a great time!

Alright, Kiddos: I'm leaving Texas early tomorrow AM for Quartzsite! Not bringing the bus (see earlier post), but will definitely be there!

More good news: looks like I'll get to put in a second appearance on the way back home a week later, so WHOOOO HOOOO!!!! Two bites at the Skooliepalooza apple!

See all ya'lls on Thursday afternoon. If anyone needs something, PM me and I'll grab it along the way. In a like manner, if anyone gets stuck on I-10 or thereabouts, I'm yer Huckleberry...

To all you boys (and girls) who are hoofing the heavy metal stuff... DRIVE SAFELY.

Our baseball team and football team uses an app called GroupMe...
It works well, and uses your phone's data.

We also used it for a family reunion that I attended last Father's Day for a group of about 60 people staying in 4 different hotels. It worked great for announcements, updates, and photos. Kept everyone in contact!

I used it at our baseball's state championship last year and texted play by play results to about 40 people that couldn't attend the playoffs.

You install it on your phone and invite users to your group. And it worked for iPhone and android users both.

Examples from within our groups...

Hey folks, sorry I am not able to show - a few of you know of my woes

Saw the video-update from the RTR next door, and Bob referred to Skoolie Palooza at 5:49 in the video below. If you guys run into Bob, please apologize for my no-show, and make sure you don't miss out on what the RTR has to offer - they can solve problems, and change your life.

ATTN: Skoolies coming Westbound on Interstate 10

I just learned (the hard way) that Interstate 10 westbound is CLOSED at Exit 94 just west of Phoenix. I'll update with reroute info when I find it.

You skoolies may do well to hole-up in Phoenix for a bit. Traffic is awful.

Update: there is a detour to the south. Expect delays.

Really cool seeing the video from the RTR, we will make it next year. We are going mobile full time this July.

Hopefully whoever shot the trooper wasn't driving a bus...

-Edit- wow, just read the article from the link above... That's some mighty fine use of the English language there Cleefus... "We was a-commin up'troad an we seent the whol danged thang... It was pandelerium!" Throw a couple of "dang'dols" in there and you got a bonafide Boomhauer...

Not a lot of data, but apparently a crash??? Eastbound still looks open.

Westbound traffic is being rerouted off I10 to the south on Exit 94 towards Tonopah. Bathrooms, diesel and lots of skoolie-friendly parking is available just off the freeway if you need it.

My guess is this wont be a problem by tomorrow, but thats a GUESS.

Sent from standstill traffic.... Zzzzzzz

Thanks for the traffic info, we stopped an hour east of Tucson for fuel and luckily checked this! Staying at a truck stop a couple hours from QZ tonight. And will see you folks tomorrow! Anyone got a gps coordinate for where the group is? I'm sure it's in this thread but I can't navigate well on this iPod.

We're with y'all in spirit! Wish we could be there this year. We're aiming for next year. We've had some major financial issues hit us this year, so we're at a temporary standstill. Hopefully we'll be getting an influx of cash in the next few months down the road to jump start this project and get her finished for next year!
