1993 E-350 shuttle bus - what type of battery goes in the second battery spot?

Hi everyone,

New to the site and hopefully glad I found it!

Me and some buddies are converting a 1993 e350 shuttle bus to take to sporting events.

Long story short, it had been sitting for a while and was missing different parts. One of them was the battery on the passenger side. The tray is roughly 14"x5"

Is this designed for a deep cycle battery? It's connected parallel to my main battery.

This is a 7.5L Gas engine

If it's attached to your starting battery you should replace it with another starting battery. Deep cycle batts like to be charged differently than starting batts so ideally the two types shouldn't be connected together.

Best practice is to replace both batteries together to avoid having the old one drag down the new one.

Since it's a gas engine you may be able to use one starting battery and use the side drawer to house a separate deep cycle batt for lights and stuff. The second battery was there to provide extra capacity for wheelchair lifts, AC fans and such.

If its the same as a diesel, (I'm betting it is) its an odd sized battery different than the drivers side (main) one. Interstate sells them-but told me they don't sell many of them.

O'Reilly's auto parts (or similar) would be able to pull it up...
They pulled up an o-ring on my power steering pump without any problem.

A battery should be well documented in their books.
