$3,250.00 usd
EDIT: Had the buses mixed up. $3250 for a 1997 Vista 180k. $3750 for a 3800 (that I described) at 250k & transmission replacement.

Sweet! Hopefully I have a build thread soon. I'm tired of waiting on "my" bus, I hope this is the one.

Here's to hoping the Vista isn't the only one with a non-545, and I don't end up with that.....thing.

ah, I see. Yeah I rode in a 35' Vista from NC that some friends own.
After that I REALLY appreciated my Ward Senator.
Now I've got this shorty with air ride and lifted suspension.

I love the 466 but I really love the cummins 8.3, choosing between those 2 i'd go with the 8.3 / MT643. and regear it if necessary to travel 65 at 2100 RPM
other auction sites to look for busses
422sales.com
onlinepros.com (texas only)
purplewave.com (busses sometimes)

Yep, got accounts at purplewave (haven't checked that in a day or two though) and 422.
Found some close calls on 422, but held back by the darn 545 or super high mileage (FL).

Before I bought me bus I called a local Navistar dealer and they were able to verify my bus had an Allison 2000 trans by giving them the VIN. I think they only needed the last 6 digits but don’t quote me.

Lmao just don’t get impatient! Don’t settle for anything less than what you want. It will pester you. We missed out on a few and in the end I am glad we did because we ended up getting ours for a great price in my opinion.

Yeah, I know good things take time, but really hoping those that time is sooner rather than later.
Just got my roster of buses to check out tomorrow morning. One may be my Huckleberry.
1998 3800, 250k, 466e - $3750 - Geared for 60-65
1997 Vista, 188k, 466e - $3250 - Geared for 45
2001 Saf-T-Liner RE 213k, 466e - $3000 - No extra info
They didn't know what the transmission was in any, but I'll get that tomorrow.

I would caution you to slow down and make sure of what it is you are wanting to purchase. The first bus you had on here that started the discussion was not an IHC. It was a Ford!
As a Ford it could very well have been a Cummins 6BT but it could also have been the 5.9L Brazilian Ford diesel. It isn't a bad engine but it is certainly not the Cummins and finding parts or anyone who knows anything about them outside of a Ford/New Holland tractor garage is going to be hard.
Also, Ford trucks and bus chassis of that vintage used Girling brakes. They stopped the trucks and buses well but parts these days are very few and far between.
So as you look at these other buses make sure that what is being advertised is what is actually there.

Yea, I check there periodically. I'm looking for a specific bus. Wanting a RE no shorter than 35 ft and no longer than 38ft. Preferably with A/C, but with the right price I can do with out. Nothing less than the 643 tranny, and gearing more highway suitable. Speaking of transmissions, anyone have a good 545 they want to get rid of? Not going in a bus, but my step van.

I ended up not going with the craigslist guy. Odd request for meeting and figured it wasn't worth the time.
Ended up with a 1997 Int'l Vista with 108k miles, DT466 and 545. Came from Union, NC School System. Despite being the one place that didn't have a single photo of any buses or hardly any details, they had some of the better buses I'd seen in person.

My bus was a SCREAMING deal because the pics were terrible and not much info on the listing.
Congrats and enjoy!
