2000 Ford E-350 Goshen Coach W/ Handicap Lift
2000 Ford E-350 Goshen Coach W/ Handicap Lift.
Donated as a project for Spaghetti Arms (raising awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and raising funds for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy)
Offered after our previous bus burnt up and was featured on and in the local news.
Our previous bus - http://www.skoolie.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=10622
We have many plans for this, taking most if not all seats out, adding a medical bed, fridge.. and those are the only things I could say for sure right now.
I plan to post as the project moves forward, we have had many, many generous donations that should get it going and finished quick.
The bus was previously used locally as a senior transportation bus but taken off the road early due to a problem with a brake line.
Any great ideas for a handicap camper and travel vehicle, let me know!

I will try and get some more pictures up soon before any of the project is started. It's going to get painted a nice gold color, get a new front a rear bumper, grille, hitch, wheels/simulators.

Re: 2000 Ford E-350 Goshen Coach W/ Handicap Lift
I am a paraplegic who is very interested in converting a Short-Bus w/handicap lift for my outdoor activities. Cots that would fold against the wall. Basic small fridge, microwave and crockpot or my george foreman. Enough room to hang my gear and dry things out. Be real nice if I could open the back up and drive my 4X into it, my (2)layout boats and 5 or 6 doz dekes. This is an idea I have had for along time....wifes a work-a-holic and I'm a duck-a-holic, I need to go traveling.

Hey unique, sounds like you've got a sweet layout in mind. Might need a something a little bigger than a shortie though. As soon as that 4x4 gets in there its already full. I've always wanted a larger bus, but this was handed over and there is no better deal than that. Everything fills up really quick, specially with our special needs. Good luck, hope you get a bus soon!

Also, I was wondering if anyone had an idea for a custom exhaust?

Re: 2000 Ford E-350 Goshen Coach W/ Handicap Lift
Good to know Dude....I'm new to this may have to tow my small enclosed trailor. I'm looking to use a Skoolie as a RV mostly during hunting season. I travel to several spots during a season, be nice to travel over the mountains and just stay. Sure the hell is allot cheaper setting up a skoolie than trying to purchase a wheelchair accessible motorhome. I've got plenty of friends with skills to help me on this. Glad to see you guys got a new rig....awesome.!!!

Re: 2000 Ford E-350 Goshen Coach W/ Handicap Lift
Unique- We took our other bus cross country last year, we being my father, brother and I. There was one bed, a fridge, and one seat (+the drivers seat). We also lugged around my shower chair and hoyer lift, and kept my chair in it. We had a big unnecessary box with sub 12'' subwoofers in it also, but we enjoyed them. That was about it and we were always looking for more room. Handicap hotels are a pain to look for, and pay for. So it was definitly convenient, and cheaper than an rv. A skoolie will be the way to go just make sure you have enough room to store your hunting equipment, and your personal equipment. It gets stuffy.
Tango- Its a Ford 5.4 Gas, I would love to get a nice exhaust on there for both those reasons!

Does anybody know about putting an awning on this shortie? What kind or how it would work? Doesn't look like there is enough room for the support arms.

Its a Sunsetter I found off Craigslist (it came off a house). I had to make up brackets to mount the legs. Notice the rear sticks out some-due to the curvature of the body.

Thats awesome, I'll be sure to look for one. One problem though may be that there is the door for the wheelchair lift where the rear one needs to mount.
