4-window shortie with under the bus storage?
I have a 1991 Chevy cutaway Bluebird bus. As you can imagine, storage inside is a premium. I am looking for examples of how others might have mounted batteries and propane tanks under their buses.

Ya...space is an issue with any Shorty.
Just enough room for a single Group 31 start batt.

Mr4btTahoe, do you have propane tanks as well? Where are they stored?

Not yet but I'm in the middle of debating on what to do for them. I'm going to be building a platform on the rear of my bus which they could mount to safely... or I may get one of the under mount horizontal tanks (if they weren't so pricey!)

Ya...those are the entry steps. Not a lot of choices on my shorty.

I've got an 89 Chevy 6.2 4 window. About 18 feet long. Two spots that I've taken over are the areas behind the front wheels underneath the bus. The left side where the air tank is now a new Air compressor and new Air storage tank for on-board compressed air. The other side has a 16 gallon water tank that is suspended from some threaded rod. Currently I've got my battery setup inside directly to the left (on the floor) as you come up the steps. A big improvement that I made was to build a rear 3 foot metal deck. I welded in a trailer hitch and build a 7x3 foot deck with expanded metal as the floor of it. This has helped a ton from hauling dirt bikes to fire wood and everything else you can think of. I'll take some pics of the storage and get those added to this thread. Rear deck image attached... I think

Lightbulb! Awesome. I know where I'm putting some extra storage soon. I was just under their building my battery box and looking at the back of the steps thinking something should be done there.

Dude. Not to hijack the thread or anything (it's on the note of storage) -- I'd like to know more about how you did that roof deck. Love the low profile, the shape in the back, and the hooks underneath along the side -- I want a roof deck that I can easily clip awnings, ropes, etc. to.
