Thanks for the kind words all.
Ya...I'm a sucker for Art Deco. That's what got me hooked on this rig to begin with so I could hardly walk away from keeping that theme going.
And yes! Been way too long since we heard from you Dred! Let us all know where you are and what's up. Any parts you are looking for? Maybe someone here knows where to find'em.

Ya...all the old "Streamlined" stuff really gets me going. Cars, trucks, even toasters looked better back then.

Many thanks for the lead on the lever Guido --- I think it will work much better than the Jeep version I have been putzing with or any of the aftermarket hot rod stuff. I like that it has the cable slack adjuster. None of the fancy ones do. No electrics and not even a spring. Simple over center mechanical arrangement that locks it in the "ON" position. Sweet!
Dredman!!! --- Where ya been! Everyone here has been wondering where you were and what you were up to. Please...fill in the blanks!

Well Howdy All --- just got back from a couple of weeks teaching this crazy cement sculpting stuff I do and WOW!...there must be 983 posts to try and catch up on! (No internet where I was staying) Not to mention 14,000 pieces of junk Email to go through.
Still have a little cement work to wrap up here in town before I can get back on the Shorty but hope to hunker down and get serious on it when I do.
Just wanted to say Hi and looking forward to getting back to work.

Gorgeous bus Tango, I like the oldies, more character. My 1965 Ford is a "Penny Parker" as it has no front end. She came with the name "Pit Stop" which I've kept as she used to be a Mazda motor shop.
For the next short while I'll be cleaning, cleaning, cleaning her as I had a roomie who hoarded EVERYTHING under the sun and poor Pit Stop is STUFFED to the ceiling. Kicked out roomie yesterday, going to start cleaning tomorrow. Today we're getting the hoarder's junk out of the basement.
Cheers

Any start is a good start. Best of luck on the cleanup. With any luck you won't find half eaten pizzas anywhere in there.
What is you plan for the old gal?

'46 Chevy Shorty
Any half eaten pizzas might be in my friend Rob's trailer, he works at Sarpino's pizzeria!
Clean up is going well. Found a set of taps and dies in standard and another set in metric
Pit Stop will be my outdoors livingroom for hot summer evenings, and a spare room for company
Cheers

Still having my lunch eaten by this big concrete sculpture project. This time it's the weather holding me up.
But...I did manage to get a couple of hours in on a bus job while it was raining. Had to make a tower for the new E-Brake handle so I did some chopping, grinding, drilling, welding and tapping...and waalaa...an almost finished tower.
Had to be openable on one side for access to the cable (yet to come).
Here it is with the cover in place. Will throw some paint on it and start work on locating it next to the pilots' seat.
Thanks again to Guido for passing along the info on this cool little Mil-Spec lever.
ONWARD!
