Hey Tango. We've got to make use of every square inch of storage in these tiny buses. I'm sure you will find a way to use the left hand side for the storage of something. With all that shinny aluminum your bus must have been the Deluxe model--mine was the cheap model so the same door is just painted steel. It'll be fun someday to park our buses next to one another for a compare and contrast fest. Great minds and all that.

Love the diamond plate look, very classy. I'll be using that around my front entry steps very similar to this.

Tango, you just have to do that to balance things out---and besides mine has hammer tone painted steel diamond plate in the entry. We wouldn't want to get out of step here.

Tango, I'm curious too.......how WILL you move that big bench when it's finished? Seems too long and fragile to be lifted as one piece.

Howdy All --- Hey Jack, my entry steps are also old steel diamond plate with a ton of red lead paint. Just may leave'em that way.

As for the bench...it's not going anywhere. It has beaucou steel and concrete in the ground to make sure it doesn't walk away.

we had a 5 person concrete Sofa in our arts district in columbus.. for some reason they decided to move it.. im niot sure why I cant remember.. something about it going to an art museum... when they first tried to lift it, 2 rather large tractors with lifts tiped when they tried... they finally brought in a huge crane like what installs A/C units on buildings.. and a semi truck that had I dont know how many wheels on the flatbed.. it was a lot... that sofa was probably 1/3 the size of your bench... I believe that bench is there to stay no matter what happens.. !!

Ya...this was an on site build and will probably wind up around 5500 to 6000 pounds. And if anyone in the future wants to relocate it...well...I just hope they have that anti-gravity thing worked out by then.

That's what confused me.....why build a beautiful bench like that right up against a concrete wall topped with chain link with a mass of pipe racks behind it? Looks like it belongs in a landscaped flower garden or a campus quad.

That's just where the bar is located. Right next to a scaffolding company. But they do plan on constructing some sort of screen all along the fence behind it. Someday.

I second that.. a drunk punk across the street dropped a couple floors off a balcony last night acting stupid... at a party.. and lived..got carted off in a squad as a precautionary.. the kid is all of 22 or 23 maybe... the apts in this area are $$$$ .. figured he was a party-goer.. then I learn it is His apartment.. oyyy. lot of stupid rich kids I guess lolol

and a drunk's head is harder than the concrete below.. besides anyway who's idea is it always to build concrete slabs directly below balconies??

Wouldn't be surprised if tried to sue the people who put the sidewalk there because they didn't put a warning sign saying "Diving headfirst onto this concrete may cause injury".

well at a local restaraunt theres a guy who bashed his head on a hanging light fixture when he was drunk so hard the fixture broike and he got a gash...

he sued the restaraunt and lost because he and his posse had moved the tables around even after the server said "dont do it".. (they use an electronic system for delivering the correct food)

so he then tried to sue the maker of the light who is no longer in business

and finally is now suing the interior designer for specifying a glass light fixture above a dining table when the place was built..

oh the scary thing? all these lawyers are taking this guy's case pro bono!!!

That's right up there with numerous cases of felons breaking into people's houses then falling down some stairs or cutting themselves on glass they broke...then successfully suing the homeowner.

Slimeball lawyers are doing more damage to America than ISIS ever could.

Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!

Moving my bus and shop is a nightmare! What with a gazillion tools, acres of scrap metal and most of the bus taken apart and scattered all over the place, it is making my brain hurt. I know the working situation will be much better but I've spent the past week just trying to organize things so I can hopefully find some of it later on the other end. And I still have a long, long ways to go.

I HATE moving!

I'll watch for signs of progress while I loll beside the Merced river in Yosemite all next week.

Wish there was something I could say to help--like keep your chin up or something.

Nothing nice about me but then we all knew that already.

Things could be worse Jack --- At least the hurricane appears to be headed away from the Gulf...so far.

Gonna be a busy month. I am back at work on the "Big Ass Bench" plus close to making the move to the new shop...bus, parts, tools and all. But my biggest concern is what to wear for Halloween!

2 of the models on matty scare me! they have it making a loop coming back across the very south of florida and then putting it in the gulf...

the 3rd model has it flying apart in pieces after the loop.. which would be what is preferred..

My vote has it heading back out into the Atlantic. But, based on many decades of hurricanes I lived through here...they do tend to have minds of their own.

the 2 models have it going into atlantic and making a right turn loop.. a U-turn basically bring it back toward south florida from the northeast to southwest.. crossing over the keys and into the gulf...

those are the ones i hope are wrong
