Re: A promise not a threat....
So is your wife any happier now that it's white instead of yellow? Mine didn't seem to gain much more appreciation for having a white monolith in the driveway as opposed to yellow, but maybe other wives have more of an aesthetic sensibility...

Re: A promise not a threat....
Thanks for the encouragement!
Flaming unicorn skulls.....yeah, I could see that...
My wife thawed a little on the project now that it's not yellow, and the seats and linoleum are torn out.
She's not too keen on the diesel smell, but that's another issue. I hear that biodiesel smells like donuts.

Biodiesel does have an almost pleasant smell. It definitely smells a bit like food of some sort, though I've never been able to put my finger on what food exactly it smells like. When I run straight (recycled) vegetable oil it smells vaguely similar to whatever was originally cooked in the oil, which in my case is chinese food.

I have no clue why-but both my bus (7.3 powerstroke) and my 91 Jetta (1.6 non turbo) run on veg-but smell totally different.

Re: A promise not a threat....
Even if you blend a little biodiesel with regular diesel, it takes the edge off that harsh diesel smell. If I find myself with a low supply of biodiesel, I'll stretch it out by blending it 1:3 with diesel. It's also good I think, once you start using biodiesel, to keep it in the fuel system so your gaskets/o-rings aren't shrinking and expanding too much due to the different fuels, and it helps add lubricity to the ULSD.

Also try Natural Gas. It's cheaper - blend 60% gas to 40% diesel. The fun part is when the exhaust smeels like burned farts and diesel exhaust - just kidding. Anyway, I'm working on the conversion for all my diesel trucks - the three M1009s, the M1031, and the B600.
