Blue Bird Mini Bird
I've had a bit of trouble finding others with the same model bus as myself!
Anyone also have a Chevy Blue Bird Mini Bird?
I have a 1990, based on the P30 chassis.

My bus is an 86 Blue Bird built on the P30 chassis. It's only 18 feet long--4 windows on the passenger side, no lift. It's the only one like it that I've seen.
A local school district just cycled out the last of this bus style in September--I used to see them around every day.

Thank you. I love the paint job, too! I didn't do it, the last owner did, but I love it!!
I have a 6.2 diesel (I think it's GM?). My mechanic told me I have a Turbo 400, 3-speed transmission. I'll check out your build thread!
Send me a message!!

one way to determine what transmission you have is by how many pan bolts you have.
Transmission Identification Chart
i have the 4 speed but OD doesn't engage atm so its like driving three speeds, how fast can you go?

I've pushed it has high as 70, I believe.
I had to replace the valve modulator on the transmission and bought the one for the TH400, so unless there is the same valve modulator on other transmissions, I definitely have the TH400.
I'll have the check the bolts when I'm out at the bus tomorrow!

Hi. I just joined this group. I have a 1990 Bluebird Mini 19 feet long on a P32 (that's wha MVD is saying) with a 350 Chevy engine. I am currently converting the bus into a dessert truck. I have questions about the mini and wondering if you still have yours. Let me know either way. Thanks

Old thread, but I also have this bus. Finding parts has been annoying, but I haven't been searching for Chevy 350 engine parts so thanks for that tip. Mine is a 2000. The last year of production for mini birds. Vin indicates p32 for me. I've been told there's little difference between the p30s.

That's so cool! I have a Detroit toooooo! But mine is a 2001. How did you convert it to veggie oil? I've heard of it being possible but was wondering how it's working out for you! Also, did you have a huge heater in the front of your bus too?
