Thanks Frochevy. They are hand made from Mexico. My wife found them off a lady in Mexico that makes them. Unfortunately they are designed to be mounted on top of the counter. I had to fabricate tabs and epoxy them to the underside and attach to the bottom of the countertop. The theme is “Octopus’s Garden” from the Beatles. My daughter is an artist and she did all the art work

Got the tambour door installed for the coffee maker. Also got the table finished with the the captain chairs bolted down. The chairs are right over the fuel tank. It’s a good thing I’m skinny. 6 out of the 8 bolts were strictly by feel. DAMN !!!

Bluto/Eleanor almost finished

One of the most unusual drawers I have ever built. Was able to complete my front door lock & keypad assembly. Even hung the privacy shade. Won’t be long now.

Got my storage area “ garage” going. Not much storage but I figured make every inch count. The insulation board is removable to access back of shower for any reason. Not sure I would ever need to though. The space between the shower and the rear of the bus is perfect for our rods & reels. The plan is to make a fold out table top hinged at the bottom that will serve two purposes. 1. Table 2. A chicken coop style ramp/ ladder to access my shelves up high. Sure wished I could reverse the handicap door opening but just too danged dangerous.

I'm too old to ever want to do acid again, but if I did, I would want to do it in your bus for sure.

Hahahaha. Go figure. I haven’t really thought about it but that is probably why I get off to all the color. Funny though, I spent most of my teenage years stoned and my wife has never even thought of doing any kinds off drugs. She is the one most responsible for all the color and the Beatles theme.

Bluto/ Eleanor update

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about Eleanor. About a month after my last post, the family, all of the adults, came down with Covid. After we finally got all cleared up and pretty much back to normal, the wife had a stroke. It interrupted everything going on the bus, but we were getting real close to finishing. Long story short, she is pretty much 99.9% back. Just a very minor memory issue. We are beginning the very last leg of finishing. ( We start cooling down here in about another month). While we were working on her therapy I was able to get the slab poured for Eleanor. I spent a solid week under that damn bus, crawling around on that rock with cardboard doing all the plumbing and electrical, then I pour the concrete. STORY OF MY LIFE !!! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started something on the wrong end. Anyway, Eleanor has a good level resting place.

Very happy to hear your wife is doing well. Slab looks great.

It really has been quite a while since an update! I saw the "BLUTO build update" pop up in the recents and I was like "I recognize that name - I wonder whose bus that is?"

Thank you for the concern /reply about my wife. Glad we are finally getting ready to jump back into this project.

On a side note; BLUTO was the name I came up with. The wife said no way in hell !!

Good news about your wifes recovery and you all getting through covid!

I know what you mean about doing things backwards! The carport and slab look great! What size is the carport itself? I've been thinking about one for our bus...

Hey Frochevy. It is 18’ x 30’. I’ll eventually close the north side up. Thanks. We are definitely back in the groove.
