Ok! Back from the painters and she’s a beauty! Colors turned out great and we begin with the mirrors. I need to use some overhangs and I have the mirrors, just need the bracket/mount. The one I was quoted was 48” long! Too much! I need a bracket much shorter but that side angle is going to be challenging. Any thoughts from the group?

Omg! It’s been a month??

Ok, well yes, it’s been pretty busy here in KY. We’ve been traveling around watching our Men’s Basketball team but now that’s over and it’s back on the tailgater! So we finally made a ton of progress on the floor last weekend. we used 1 x 3’s cut and glued down. Place foam insulation in between the grid and then laid the play wood on. Stacked a bunch of weight on that left it to sit and cure for a week now. My guess is we’ll fasten down the plywood with screws this weekend. The we’ll work on the walls. Foam in the walls too then a commercial wall board to finish this. Of yeah, running some electric too

Also installed one of the new mirrors. Also finished up the interior paint....I guess it has been a busy week.

Awesome. Count me as jealous. Just joined the forum and planning on buying a very similar size bus for tailgating. I have a spot by our stadium (University of Oklahoma) and need something that will fit in one spot. Very interested to see how yours turns out. I plan to buy a bus in the next few months. It won't be ready for next season though.

Ok, so hubby (Bill) and nephew (Travis) and I continued with the interior. After the plywood, we began to paint the interior. There is a lot of almond color and browns....yuck! Our interior plans are shades of blue, grays & black. We went with a DTM (direct to metal) paint from Sherwin-Williams “SW 9147 Favorite Jeans” for the ceiling and ribs. It’s a blue/grey color in eggshell. We covered all the bumpers in white since the brown ones were not part of the color wheel we decided on! I bought some vinyl and went at it. Here are some photos of the ceiling & bumpers.

Dash and interior seating

Ok, so remember I kept saying brown/almond was not going to work? My other nephew offered a solution on the dash. He found some paint that would adhere to this dash and it turned out great. This dash, arm rest, and even the sun visors are all now a smoke grey! Looks perfect!

Interior seating

We decided on pontoon boat seating for a couple of reasons. One, it allows us to store things in the seat. Two, it’s molded plastic bases are lightweight. Three, it is easy to cut and the cushion seats are durable and waterproof. We started with a 55” beat and 28” corner seat.

Dinette

On the other side of the bus will be a swivel bucket seat, a custom table top and another 28” beach

Cabinet

We are going with a simple 30” cabinet that we painted grey. This will be situated at the back end of the bus. We chose a black countertop.
