central FL. bus storeage

Hi long time no post because been in the process of moving from West Palm Beach to Ocala. We found a nice place but it is in a deed restricted community. Now I need to find a place to store the short bus.

How far are you from Jupiter?

Drive up near the end of NW35th St. There's some trucking, welding,etc. yards that may have room to work on a bus. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find something in that neck of the woods.

The place i'm thinking of is Mike Love. (welding, trucking, fabrication). Big yard just past the railroad tracks on the SE side of the tracks.

Hi I found a storage place about 2 miles from the house but I can not work on the bus there. This shouldn't be a problem as the rules only state I can not have the bus parked over night. I will just bring it by in the day and work on it who is to say weather I am working on the house or bus. On a side note I found a good mobile mechanic and now have a 65 mph bus that gets better fuel mileage

It sure is getting harder to find decent places that allow one todo a conversion. In Florida, the HOAs are extreme!

No doubt.

I have been really fortunate. I am able to work on mine in my driveway in town. The rental I have is bus friendly as well. I was surprised that I couldn't find a skoolie to rent it.

Yeah, same here. The neighbors are really cool about it and a few are slightly interested as well.

HOA's everywhere are extreme.. a lot of it has to do with the the "whiute picket fence perfect neighbirhood" scenerio.. and the degradation of many of the newer neighborhoods where their HOA expired... multi-culuralization of suburbs is also something that has changed the face of neighborhoods and some just resist it..



my current nextdoor neighbor immigrated from africa 15 years ago on an education visa and then gained citizensship.. he is 100% stickler about his yard looking perfect and what not but said that many of his friends from his home country and also here laugh at him.. pretty yards, clean porches, and the like isnt a care.. bring the idea of tools, cars, equipment, and such all over the yard to the USA and people freak out... that kind of stuff causes anyone developing new city rules and charters to strengthen the codes and HOA's...



it also causes anyone trying to build anything or improve anything fits as they expect projects to be done with no mess and be done quickly.. ie they want you to hire a contractor who comes in does his thing and leaves.. rather than DIY projects that typically take some time.. ...


im lucky my storage unit doesnt care what people work on there as long as you dont trash all the spaces around yours... its a U-Haul covered storage unit.. there are quite a few throughout the country..

HOA's are bad all over. I was referring to the density of HOA verses non-HOA in the central Florida area. Sorry for the confusion.
