collins probable suspension overhaul- need advice

hard to tell if it is just that our roads are falling apart or if the suspension needs a good bit of work...

hoping to get bus into the chevy dealership end of next week to get a check over and see what ends up on their list

2008 chevy model 3500 dually with 95,000 miles

was looking around at full front suspension kits and am not sure which brands are good

also wondering about what kind/brand of shock replacement to do

hoping some of this i can do myself

Hey Vin,
so when i got my 05 with 202K miles it looked really good but roaded terrible?
it was rough, noisy & would get the shakes over 55 mph.
so heres what i did:

1) 6 new AT tires
2) front end alignment ( new tyrod ends )
3) new OEM size shocks ( napa )
4) fixed everything that rattled ( windows, cabinet doors, door handles, etc. )

now she rides really good & smooth!
what a difference!

later i may take a leaf spring out from the rear or i did find a website that sell leaf spring kits. call and tell them what ya have and want and they will fix ya up?
i havent done it yet but since my chassy is rated for 10K-14K i am under weight. loaded down and all packed up i am only at 8600K pds!
i think if i change some leafs i can smooth my ride even more?

be patient & enjoy the build

Interested in getting the travel trailer on it too and seeing if weighting the bus makes a difference..

Have not been able to take it to the dealer to get a check over and see what they believe is worn out etc but maybe next week, will probably do the work myself but would like the dealers recommendations on what is bad

Will update this when I find out

i forgot to give you a link

https://www.generalspringkc.com/blog...smoother-ride/

keep in mind tires get flat spots from sitting too long and causes a vibration.

even if they look good with plenty of tread they could be bad

also check the date.

My tires are brand new Michelin‘s, so I know those are fine, half of the problem is the roads are so bad here in Arizona

Thanks for the link!

I need to get it looked over because I’m sure it needs a few parts that are worn out but also need to drop my travel trailer on here and see how much that helps, hopefully weighting the bus down some inside and that well help it ride better

Be at least six weeks before I get to do that I think
