Year is very important for getting advise. Also the 6.0 engine is not popular around here. I'm not an expert on them, just passing it on.

The 6.0L has a bad reputation due to a poor design of the crank thrust bearing being a half-moon. This can lead to 'crank walk' and engine failure, especially on manual transmission vehicles. They are have 1st gen HEUI injectors which are know for having issues and failure. Later and earlier Ford diesels have different injectors and are less likely to have issues.
