Well when bidding on several buses all the time, the online ones are convenient and give me at least the engine type.
For the price I don't even care what transmission I get.
Do I have to call Thomas to get all that info? Their website sucks and is only there to promote their new bus sales. I can't find anything about VIN decoding on it.
Got the call back from my agent. I'm now insured, with towing. $600 for a year.

Really? That does suck. Might explain why I don't have a bookmark for it from my searching days.
Engine, tranny, and hp I get from Blue Bird without calling so if you ever bid on a BB, let me know.

insurance is zip-code specific to say the least... im 950 a year total both busses with collision / comp / declared value (covers my additions like paint, A/C, etc.. anything perm attached to the BUS).. since progressive doesnt cover converted skoolies anything on the policy must be vehicle related .. not conversion related..
I need to ask about towing...

Mine is with Progressive but also set to storage at the moment. Except for having to have insurance to keep it on base, I'd drop it altogether until it was built.

ohio is a racket to get more $$.. there is no state law about having to register and insure a vehicle that isnt being driven.. however 99% of the counties and towns have rules that state.. if its parked ON a street.. or CAN BE SEEN from a street (any direction).. then it must have a valid license plate.. oh and if it has a valid license plate it Must be insured with at least liability..
and while most states simply ticket and take your license if you get stopped by the coppers.. ohio can send you love notes that says "show us proof of insurance for the specified date on the letter".. which can be any date within the current reg year... even if you never drive it!!
EC - calling thomas with the VIN will net you the correct specs for your shorty... hopefully theres no speed limiter set, i dont have the software to alter settings on the CATs.. the 3126 comes in many flavors.. similar to the navistar engines... from really mild to just a little wild.. our schools still have a few 5 window shorties with 3126s in them from the mid 90s out in service.. rust buckets but they still sound great..

Hello guys! Roxanne here. CB, Shaun, and Nicole made it safely to Douglasville, GA! My lovely aunt lives there and has put them up for the night. They're getting an early start tomorrow to get our new CAT and should be on the road headed home by 8 am or so. He's very excited about the "Georgia Peaches" calendars he picked up at a highway gas station. LOL!

SC tried that with me. Had a car for sale in the front yard. Someone called the cops. Told the cops it was for sale. Oh well hurry up. Well, no kidding. I had a pickup in the back yard. Again with the cops.
It has to be tagged.

THEN IT ISN'T VISIBLE FROM THE STREET. Then hung up on them.
Same bunch that tried to tell me I had too many leaves in the yard.
1) Get me the official leaf count that I'm allowed.
2) You count the leaves.
3) I'll pick up every leaf over that limit.
They didn't come back.

Got in a bit earlier and took the bus out to johns. I'm pretty tired from the drive.
Bus is nice, did really well.
Working gauges are a nice thing to have.
We got a late start and had to leave the bus yard and buy batteries. I wanted to have Waffle House with Josh, Hillary, and Sandi but just couldn't stop I was running so far behind.
190hp 3126, recent reman 545. 64k original miles and 3400 hours. Purrs like a kitten and its silky smooth. Gotta find out what gears are in the rear, its SUPER HIGH. Never even got close to redline and the bus will do 75mph+.
There's some sort of shimmy/shake action going on at interstate speeds but smooth and nice at 65 or less. This thing is geared so high its silly.
