GVWR...official

We have bought a Blue Bird school bus from 1993 and want to have
it converted into a camper in the Netherlands.
In order to use the bus as a camper, it must be inspected by the
National Road Transport Agency. (RDW in The Netherlands)
The National Road Transport Agency requires the official maximum
technical mass (GVWR) of this school bus from the Blue Bird
organization.
Can somebody provide this information to us? Or does someone have another idea to get the official information.

The National Road Transport Agency only agrees with an official
letter from Blue Bird for the converting the bus into a
camper.
An answer with the official maximum technical mass may be given
by email.

Details of our bus:
GMC 3500 Vandura (school bus)
Vincode: 2GDHG31J1P461733
Year of manufacture: 1993

I hope you will be so kind as to email us the requested
information, so that we can have the bus converted into a camper in the
Netherlands.

Thank you very much for your
cooperation.

With Kind regards,

Tim Papôt

If you still have contact with the seller, it would be easiest to have them send you a photograph of the information sticker. That will show not only the GVW but the axle weight ratings, too.

The school bus was imported from Canada to Belgium and from there to the Netherlands. The necessary owners have nothing. Probably there was a company in Belgium or Canada that arranged this in 2008. No data can be found on the bus itself.
So I hope one of you has something official. I also sent an email to the company BlueBird ... but I haven't received any of that yet.

The GVW should be on a tag somewhere on the vehicle unless it has been removed. Is that not enough? It would have been placed there by the manufacturer.

Sounds like you are already doing what most would do by emailing the bus body maker. Hopefully they will respond soon. This "pandemic?" may impede their reply time.

This vin decoder site mentions an incomplete vin#.

But it does list some information as to the gvwr range.

Hopefully you will keep us posted as your conversion takes place. I have watched a lot of videos of various conversions from the Netherlands. Most recently the youtube channel "Vantastic". The couple discusses how they keep condensation away etc.

In the mean time, I will send a text to friend of mine that does mechanical conversions to schoolies when california buys buses from other states. Here, each state will have their own rules regarding things like emmissions, handicap access, and other safety items. He's usually very resourceful.

Try entering your VIN on this website:

https://vantage.blue-bird.com/Portal/Vantage-Home.aspx

This should give you quite a bit of information on your bus.

The VIN code is incorrectly stated in my post above. Below the correct code.
2GDHG31J1P4517338

I do not have the idea that this is the original image with data.
But maybe also ... but to me the weights seem a bit on the light side .. I cannot place them all the way to the GMC 3500 Vandura Blue Bird schoolbus.

Does the vin in the picture match the vin on the bus title? If so that is your GVWR. It seems a little light but maybe that is what is weighs. Maybe the weight is in kg? Although tire pressure is listed in psi.
