Help in Arizona

Newbie here. Purchased a 92 p30 carpenter body bus and am currently at the DMV trying to get a 30 day permit. They tell me I need a CDL to transfer title or even get a temp permit. Or I can do a full conversion first, which is going to be difficult if I can't move it from the mechanics. Besides, I was planning on total flexibility with removable seats and beds.

Has anyone from Arizona run into this and what did you do?

Try different clerk or DMV. Never mention word bus. it's RV and you need to just get it to mechanic to convert legally. You are trying to comply...

One more question. According to add AZDOT. regs, you need a cdl for more than 16 passangers, but it doesn't say anything about converting to a work truck.

My original plans were to use the seat holes to attach equipment and furniture, depending on use at the time.
The only thing permanent would be the wet bath.
