Inoperable gages

New guy here,
I purchased a 2011 Collins 5 window on a Chevy chassis.
Seller said the gages are intermittent, 3 hour drive home, only Speedo and temp gauges worked.

I am stripping the interior now, any ideas where to look?
I assumed it would be a bad ground, but with No intermittent operation, I am afraid not.

Thanks for any help.

That’s going to be a Chevy thing. Your best bet is to pay $20 to get on the AC Delco TDS. You’ll be able to access the exact info for your vehicle based on the VIN number.

Before I did that however, I’d check fuses, connectors and jiggle some wires

Intermittent is usually power related. Check and re-seat the connectors in the back of gauge cluster, if it doesn't work, you may have to take it apart and do a continuity test on all of the connections on the mainboard to ensure no cracks in the solder joints where the connectors connect, which can occur on some of the older dashes.

Perhaps it could be a cluster problem and not a vehicle / wiring problem. Try contacting iKarz Speedometers in California and send them a picture of the gauges, sometimes the gauges can be bench tested and confirm or rule out the cluster to be the issue.
