I've now discovered that this generator will start up my AC once, but then I have to leave the AC running constantly because if it cycles on and off it will kill the generator. But if I start it once and let it run continuously, no problem. Just have to open a few windows at night or I'm a popsicle in the morning!

Re: Introducing my first bus

Try upgrading with a "hard start capacitor" in the A/C unit. Lots of people do the mod so that they can run off of the smaller 2000w inverter type generators.

I already tried that. I had a knowledgeable friend (electrical engineer) helping me and he wired it every possible way to no avail. The starts were equally hard no matter what. I guess my AC is not set up to benefit from that type of device.

Hmmm...I havent tried mine with my generator, but hopefully it will run my AC. I thought I could just add a capacitor if it didn't run it well.

Re: Introducing my first bus

Going to being selling the Bus for $6000 to buy a slide-in truck camper for my Ranger. Just don't have the time to finish this build and a TC just makes more since for what I will be doing. Will post the craigslist add in classified section when I get it posted this weekend.
