Just bought a 6-window short bus; thats lots of windows to lick...

Yup, sold my beloved BMW M3 (that goes 180 and tried too many times to send me to jail) and my rarely used cargo trailer (nuff said)...and needed a new toy to focus on. So I bought a short bus. 2004 E-450 Collins diesel w/ 157k miles for...$3300. Super nice condition. Apparently this bus was to be sent out for an alternator replacement and somehow got put on the wrong list (the "for Sale" list) and was sold to a wholesaler...who sold it to me. I was Jonny-on-the-spot and sniped a bunch of other people who were after it. So I am stoked.

So far I've stripped out all but three seats; just behind the driver is a passenger-side seat now facing aft...with a boat table between it and the 2nd seat on the driver's side. The front seat on the passenger side I retained as well. Behind that is a 5ft countertop w/ 4 cu-ft 120v fridge underneath, powered by a 1500w HF inverter. Also installed shore power lead and 20A Xantrex marine battery charger. Sink and cooktop are forthcoming, as are propane heat and head/shower.

Got two couches in the bus for now; nice black leather couch you can sleep on and a $50 CL loveseat hide-a-bed. Its Fugly.

Plans for this bus are as follows: PAINT!! Bulletproof and re-tune the 6.0 diesel, 2" lift on both ends, 32" Duratrac tires, roof deck, awning, and eventually a 4" lift 4wd conversion kit from U-joint Offroad. Rear hitch and maybe a winch bumper for the front.

Here's some pics. More to come. OR...maybe not. Gotta figure out the pic uploade for this forum.

The problem with 180 is only the distance needed to stop.
Couch is such a simple yet practical solution. I am waiting for the right one... that i can fit through the door. There have been a couple of nice leather ones around but they were gigantic and would swallow the living room..m

Funny i sold all but one of my bikes right before i got the bus.
The Ninja 6 is missed ocassionally. Now i am considering if i will install a trailer hitch for the last bike, and trailer it, or ...

Excited to see pics of your special lady friend (Big Lewbowski)

Keeps the retards from overheating. Hard to lick the windows if ya got no spit.

Painting this damn thing is alot of work. Top is done, bottom will get sprayed that green color tomorrow. After another couple hours of taping, and a couple more hours of scuffing and wiping. Uff.

Reminds of how the military described the cause of death when one of our F4's plowed into a mountain side at mach 1.7...

"Death was due to rapid and excessive deceleration".

I wasn't worried about the death thing. I'm a damn good driver. But if caught at anywhere near the limits of this car's capabilities... it would mean an automatic trip to jail. As a ship captain, this could have a severe negative impact on my professional licenses. So the car had to go. And here comes the short bus.

God gave me two warnings that could have been disastrous , so i took his advice & got rid of it.

After probably 15hrs of taping, scuffing and wiping I finally got to blow some paint on this thing last night. NOT a pro job...but hey, its a short bus. I think it turned out OK.

But...I'm no flamer. Strait as can be.

Paint done. Well, it might need a green stripe along the white top.
