Just bought a e-450 5 window blue bird

Ive been thinking about doing this for a while. Recently i was going through e-bay and found my perfect bus, a 2005 ford e-450 blue bird. I bid on it and won. A few weeks later i had it shiped to my shop and immediatly stared tearing into the engine to get it running properly, now that the engine has a new turbo and new fuel system its ready for the conversion, i ripped al the seats out and started into the removal of wiring and thats where im at now, took forever to get registered as a memeber on skoolie but now im in. Ive been looking around and found a lot of great ideas, will try and post some more pics after work today. This weekend im going to tackle trying to get the 8kw kubota diesel generator mounted on the frame, as im going to use it to power my camper that i will be using the bus to pull.

Yep. Here's how:

1. Get a photobucket account.
2. Follow the prompts and upload you photos to your "bucket". If you take photos on your phone you can get the Photobucket App that makes it easy to upload right from your phone.
3. While you are writing a post on here, open your Photobucket page in another browser tab, open the photo you want to post...then click here:


...this will copy the link to your photo.
4. Now back on the Skoolie tab, click the "Insert Image" button and when the box pops up...hit Ctrl+V to paste your link into the box.

5. Finish writing your post, then when you hit the POST button your photos will appear in your post.

Thats it. Dirt simple.

I simplyt click in the bottom one marked 'IMG' on photobucket and then paste right into my post and I can still use quick replay and dont have to make my own img tags

Got a good bit done today, the generator is kicking my butt because i'm not that great with electrical and not quite sure which wires (that went to the welder) I can cut and which ones I need to keep, have a buddy coming to help me sometime, once I get that sorted out i'm gonna work on getting it mounted on the frame and get the wires ran. still unsure of what im going to do on the inside yet, mainly concerned on getting the generator mounted and an insulated box built to help with the noise then go from there. until the generator gets sorted out im gonna work on the hitch install this week

I didn't remove below the "chair rail" on mine, it seems to be pretty integral to the body of the bus. I know some people say it shouldn't be removed for strength concerns, but I know some have cut it out anyways.

Yes...definitely look it over real good before grabbing a Sawzall. On may buses, the chair rail is indeed a structural element that ties the ribs and floor together but there are any number of variations on this theme.

Yea after looking a little further into it I think I'm gonna leave it alone, just gonna re attach where I've already taken it off. Really not looking forward to tackling the roof rivets tommorow. So far found the best way is a chisel on a air hammer. If you can keep it straight it'll go straight through the rivets. Hopefully the roof comes out relatively easy for me. Can't wait to get back onto getting the generator mounted and finishing the wiring so I can start building

BTW...the area below the chair rail makes an excellent place to route electrical.

so any ideas on insulation? what works the best? is it worth all the time getting all the rivets out on the ceiling? or just leave the ceiling alone?
