Managing Roof Space

I have a 7 window dog nose Blue Bird. I have a functioning factory installed AC system which I want to keep-- it has one large evaporator mounted in the back. For that reason I have chosen a Houghton roof mount heat pump unit.

Here is my problem-- I also want to mount a MaxAir Fan on the roof, and if I mount the AC unit and the MaxFan longitudinally on the peak of the roof-- it will reduce my solar panel space. (I want three 45 inch wide 400 watt panels...)

I just looked at photos of a build by Yellow Chrome on a short bus, and they have mounted a roof AC unit side by side with a MaxAir Fan.

Anyone else ever done this? Roof leaks?

Feedback please.

This is the AC I have mounted on the roof of my bus, with maxair fan and 3 64.57-in x 39.06-in solar panels. Still have the emergency hatch and installed a skylight in my shower. I can take some pictures tomorrow if you're interested

I have a Houghton A3800 on Freddy D's roof. It moves more air than any other rooftop unit, 350cfm, I believe. I wouldn't mount it tilted though, as per the installation instructions. The condenser makes it own rain (condensate) and the built in drains have a gravitational flow.

I understand the need for an exaust vent, too. Have you considered a different model of Maxxair fan? They have models for horizontal and even diagonally mounted. This model is built for the purpose you described, including wall mounter. (Saving roof space.)
