here are some more pics of progress thats been happening
the air conditioner i just put in today i built an insulated box inside the bus above the master bed area to house it. i used vent tape to seal the seams but it is definitely mounted well. the box is siliconed up and sealed really well. i built it this way so as to pull it out and upgrade or clean it whenever i want. also since it is just inside the window opening i am making a stainless steel cover to mount outside when it is stored to keep out those dang wasps and daubers. i have a small set of 12v fans i am mounting inside the box to circulate air so it doesnt overheat. i ran it all day today sitting in the sun and it worked great. now i just need to build a handler box and run some venting to make it function as a central air type system. i actually got a nice rooftop unit from the trailer i cannabilized but i didnt want to add more height to the bus and we needed central air in our home so i recharged and cleaned the rooftop unit and installed it in our house. it is working great by the way
the electrical access panel i finally got cut into the bus. i havent sealed it yet, but it works great. i put it up so high so i can also use it as an access panel for mounting and unmounting the fridge and also to use the fridge on my inverter. we had to go cheap on most of the things we are doing and instead of buying a big expensive fancy items. so i wired the 1000w inverter to a remote switch next to the breaker box and ran and extension power outlet to the power outlet on the inverter. so all i have to do is plug the main shore cable into the remote outlet box switch on the inverter and turn on the fridge breaker. then i can power the fridge on the inverter while boondocking or traveling. i will add pictures of the setup and diagrams later in case anyone is interested.
these are the kids bunks made from foam and vinyl salvaged from the seats that came in the bus. the part that hase the framing wrapped is the only part that will be exposed the other half will be walled in. my other half did an awesome job covering the beds!
