The lights-thats right. Last month I tried out the LED flood lights I installed up where the red flashers were but I couldn't see past those mirrors when I turned them on. Off they go!

Do you like your led flood lights? I need to do something with my lights up top front and back... I haven't decided what to do yet... Thought about a couple outdoor speakers on 2 of the rear ones.

I haven't really used them much yet but they are super bright. Fronts are mainly for tracking down campsites at night. Rears for additional backup lighting. Nilights on Amazon.

I removed mine some time ago and could not be happier about it. I think they're incredibly ugly, I found that they blocked my view side/forward pretty badly, and the mountings for mine had eaten holes in the fiberglass hood that allowed water in and down the inside of the hood where it rusted out the headlight mountings. I've found I don't miss them at all for maneuvering; I have a good sense of where my front wheels are now, and the bottom lenses on my side-view mirrors (not sure what those are actually called) give me almost the same view anyway.

May have to steal that idea......where do I send the royalty payment?

I've been thinking about moving my shower outside to free up a little more space inside.

I recall someone on here saying don't throw anything away until you're done!
Are we ever really done?

No royalty payment needed! Lol that's the best part about this site is all of the good ideas and collaboration!

If we had more room, an inside shower would be nice for cold weather camping... But we do enjoy the outside shower during the warm weather!

Air Lift- Rear Air Bags

I purchased some air bags for the back of the bus a month or more ago. First I talked myself into an air compressor to be able to adjust while going down the road. Then after reading more about the wireless/Bluetooth setup, you don't have to run all the hoses and valves into the cab! I ended up going with that system.

I jacked the rear of bus up lastnight and started doing some fit checks to see if they're going to work. So far I think they'll work and I got the driver side bag in place, but still needs some adjustments. More to come! I'll take pics and post the install when I get into it.

Air Bags!

Well I have not road tested the system yet, but so far it seems like everything went together well. I was able to get the airbags mounted and lines ran last week. I aired the bags up and let them sit over night to test for leaks. Over Memorial weekend I was able to mount the compressor. I was able to mount it to the frame just inside (behind) the battery box on the passenger side. I used to existing holes in the frame and just had to move the battery cable mounts up a bit. I would suggest the wireless ez mount that I used if contemplating going wireless. I have a small controller that kind of looks like a garage door opener. It works great as well as the app on my phone I can air up or deflate the bags. I look forward to driving about an hour this weekend and I will play with adjustments then.

My grey water tank drain pipe goes under my rearend axle tube. When I jacked the body up to get the bags in, it put pressure on that drain pipe. I may have to add a flexible rubber hose in this area if I have problems when airing the bags up. My main reason for adding the air bags is to improve ride as well as we plan to haul our boat behind the bus for some trips.

Another note on what talked me I to going with the wireless setup. Nothing goes into my cab during install. If you have a compressor with the manual valve/adjustments you have to run the air lines into the cab. Hopefully this system will last awhile, it wasn't real cheap!

That is awesome. I wonder if I can find the compressor and wireless system for my current airbags. Thanks for posting

I've been pretty non existent on here for awhile. We have been busy with summer in general and camping in the bus as well! So I wanted to give a few updates. At the first of June my oldest son and I went to a traditional only bow shoot. We didn't have power or water where we camped so I tested out the generator. I ran the fridge on propane during the day, then ran the generator at night. Worked great! A little over one tank of propane lasted from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning when we left. We also had enough water on hand for a couple pots of coffee as well as for the normal bathroom duties, washing etc. Then my son an I took a shower Sat night. I took an extra 7gal of water with me but didn't need it. It was a good weekend and bus was great!! I'll hopefully post more on more adventures soon...

Good to hear from you Frochevy. How many gallons of water did you start with, not including your 7 gallon spare? Do you have a black tank or compost toilet? Sounds like things went well.

I would have to read through my notes to be sure, but I'm pretty sure my freshwater tank is 13 gallons. I have a 25 gallon grey tank and 25 gallon black tank. Shower is outdoors. But I was pretty excited the 13 gallons lasted us through the weekend. The last time we camped without hook ups was father's day last year and we had to refill the fresh water tank!
