First dumb question. Where does a Build thread start? Start of the search, narrowing of vehicles and events that led to Nellie Belle our adventure bus (I have a wife, 6,4& 2 year old, and soon a puppy) or do you all want to skip that and go right to the planning process for this build which is probably 30% in?
Hey honestly no one is doing a pre emissions C2 outside van style. I desperately will need some mental corrections daily.
That f@cking turbo whine got me; and the complete 360 visibility, kinda shocking except for the awful double reflection of cars on the left bouncing off the inside of the right windows in the big rear view mirror which made using it worthless as I had no idea who was where. She’s perky and oddly nimble; but without a scrap of comfort, a lot of stuff just needs to be plucked and binned. I doubt much of the dash will survive, its all plastic, it’s going wood, because I got yelled at too much in 4th grade.
The head mechanic at the awesome Carolina Bus where I found her ($17 Busky) basically just said it’s an ultra rare big bus options package in a little bus that spent 10 years in Arizona to end up completely rust free and honestly perky. Multiple mechanics felt it was the first they had seen.
Confirmed 190hp/520lbft MBE 906 / Allison 2500 PTS with electronic assist monster hydraulic discs all around.
She topped out a 67 mph on the way home with a 5.71 rear and 6th disengaged; I’m gonna chase 85 because wtf, she’s way peppier than I expected. First fuel bill $0 Busky for 58 gallons.
Wallet lighter moment today: First $1 Busky spent (Bus Buck, aka Boat Buck, aka $1000 but I don’t want to think about the money side for a moment). Fantastic company called rear view safety full of uber helpful people.

360+ Birdseye system with the MV1 side turn adds and multi view 9” monitor. Love the demos, reviews are stellar and those folks were super informed on some tough questions. $1 Busky well spent, safety first because I just can’t see around it and kids are tiny and those fisheyes gotta go in the bin.
I’ll photo temp install on arrival (everything is coming back out for foam and modified roof lift). I guess I’m using Imgur cause I am not a snap face or chat book user and that won’t change.
