At the painted desert @ Petrified Forest.
Having a little problem with fuel vapor build up in the exhaust. To the point the tank was wheezing full time. My tank was supposed to be vented but my cap wasnt a vented cap. Drilled a hole in my gas cap.

Petrified Forest and Route 66 Wig Wam Motel. Just swung through for pics at the motel. Rushed on to the Meteor Crater.

Well, I bet it's vented now !

Thanks for sharing the pics- it's a big motivational boost to us in mid-build and we need all the help we can get to keep shelling out cash and time into our monstrosities.

Happy Trails !

My cooling system and ac does ok to keep a cool breeze blowing across my face. 118 today near Hoover Dam. Tried to run dash ac and my engine temp started to creep up. So i just draped a water soaked towel across my arms and toughed it out. 114 inside at 55 mph.
Running front and rear ac on a regular 80-90 degree day keeps the whole bus comfy.

yeoow thats hot!! I remember tossing an A/C belt in death valley on our IHC scout many years ago.. we ffound this little shop with an old guy sittin in a garage next to a swamp cooler.. he had just 3 things in his shop..
every kind of belt imagined, every hose imagined, and Coolant (and of course a water hose)...

dissipating heat from a van chassis is tough.. im wondering if the dog bowl hinders heat dissipation while of course making the engine run better...

idea being that positive pressure into an area that should be negatively pressurized.. making the fan have to work that much harder to move air...

Try 130 - 135 in the daytime with 90-95% humidity.

I kind of got that idea from watching the show that not all of them are into the bus.. I mean it is a bit out there... but so are some of their builds.. its fits the show

Both the bus and the car would fit right into Houston's 'Art Car' parade. There are many more that are much more "out there". It's a great day for fun. Tango may be able to get the dates for this years parade. That might be a good time to have another Houston area gathering.
