Re: Putter's Bus

I now know how so many of you feel, I started painting the roof white, started at the back, late in the day, but damn, its going to look good. I cant wait to get it done. Still cant find a clear lens cover for the warning lights up top.. Cant wait to get up in the am and see how it dried. Like I said put second coat on late in the afternoon....

Re: Putter's Bus

I have 15 hours just shooting it on with the spray gun... That's one coat of primer and two coats of color, then the black...

Prep was the most time consuming part... And finding decent chunks in the weather to get it on and have it dry before the rain...

Re: Putter's Bus

sanded the cabinet tops so I could put another coat of poly on and got a splotchy looking finish on them. Rubed them down and they were smooth, so I hope they dry ok. ANybody else have this happen? Is it from uneven sanding?

Re: Putter's Bus

bought a 4000 watt, 30 amp onan out of a motorhome for 1k yesterday. cranked right up, barely revved up when the rooftoop a/c was turned on. Had some work done on it recently, new fuel pump with a few other things. I am stoked to have it........things are coming together quickly now.....was in a rut.

Re: Putter's Bus

building a battery/generator box today. Going to hold 4 batteries and the onan 4k 30 amp generator I recently picked up. Going to have a divider in between and insulate the genny area even though its a micro quiet. pumped up about it

Re: Putter's Bus

redid the wire covers above the windows. probably gonna put some kind of suttle lighting either on top of them or in them. electrical oulets and cable and speaker wires are hidden in them. put 2 oulets for power on each side plus 1 outlet from inverter on each side

Re: Putter's Bus

I like those electrical channels! I may have to do the same in a couple small areas of my bus. I really like having a lot of wood trim rather than the stock metal channels. Plus there is that area next to the driver's seat where the wiring makes a "T" and the wiring cover on my bus for that area is made of flimsy plastic. I'm definitely not putting that back on!
