I can't drink much but I'll definitely hit you up if/when we're in town.
Trying to arrange for a ride out there hopefully sat or sun.

After all this selling of buses, its gonna be so sweet to have the 466 shorty I've been wanting so badly!

Monday I'll call the school again. I missed a good chance to have them mail me the paperwork, so I'm going to see if they can do that for me Monday.
I've got insurance so if I can get a texas temporary tag/permit I can leave sooner. I'm hoping to go with that.
I won't have long, but I'm going to plan on hopefully staying a night there and leaving the next morning nice and early.

IDK how I missed it, but there appears to be tape or something on the gauge cluster... Can someone with better eyes tell me what they think?

To me it looks like tape or velcro.
I'd have asked but I just didn't catch it.

I saw that... maybe they had some other kind of device there for the driver..

I did notice that bus has the optional (and rare) front dash A/C add-on..

most of them just have the hanging rear unit...

Oh, man, that's exciting! I thought that's what those vents were!

theres a chance they are just for ventilation.. but the only time ive seen them on an 'IC' is when the front evaporator was installed.. it was an add-on option meant for A/C'd busses to help with rainy-day window defogging but it also could blow cold air on the driver...

amtran / IC was the only one who offered it on a large chassis until Freightliner started on the later "FS" and then in the 'C2'. and now bluebird does too on the visions.

I probably won't know until I get it home, but I'm wondering what size tires and wheels will fit.
Do you think there's any suspension difference with the lowpro tires?
Ya think 8.25 wheels will fit the front? They should, right?
If I could get some 11R's to fit it that would be great. I'd even be happy with a 10R if I have to stick with the 7.5" wheels.
I'm definitely going to try and find a deal on some alloy wheels once I know what I can fit.

I'm going to have to figure out how to defeat the interlock for real this time around, too. Chris, BlackJohn and the rest of you get ready for electrical questions! This time around I at least know a little more than last time with those damn wipers!

hopefully the wipers just work on this one

as fpor the wheels, alot depends on the hub and what offset it has against the spindle.. and of course what kind of wheel offset you can get. it looked like you have the 10 bolt pattern if I remember right, which seems to make it easier to find many different offsets and wheel sizes.

Yeah, they're the usual 10 bolt accuride rims.

Not sure how you are getting it home CB, lost track here so busy lately combining corn. Take your ohm-meter with you and some basic tools if you go get it. Looks like a great bus, congrats.
And don't cut or change anything without guidance first. The wipers were a nightmare iirc, lol.

Happy Tksg to you and yours,
John

Right on. Thanks man.
Hey those wipers weren't my fault, and even had Chris scratching his head a bit!

I may have a ride sunday, so I'd be able to get it monday or tuesday. Will bring my tools for sure.
Should be a nice ride with 215 hp and a 2000 series.
