Nope- full rad , full intercooler.

On another note- I'm getting no smoke from the exhaust. None at all.

Exactly.
I'm not all butt-hurt about this. Has it ruined my weekend? maybe.... But at least its in a place I can work on it.
If all else fails there's a semi-reputable diesel repair shop two miles up the road from the bus.

I got some bad news today. Fired up the bus, and ten minutes into running I saw coolant pooling under the passenger side front of the engine. Above the waterpump. Behind the alternator, under the thermostat housing. I'm 99.9% sure that the culprit is the front engine cover aka timing cover. The spot where the leak is coming from would be right where the coolani inlet and outlet to the block are.

Anyone replaced this before? Looks do-able but like a huge job.
Oh no. What do you do?

Robin, I haven't seen another one with that size. It would be a good thing you're saying?

If that's a shorty in reasonable condition with an 8.3, I'd consider buying it myself.

Is that an auction vehicle?

That's an unheard of setup in a bus. It's a unicorn, even if someone had to make it happen by swapping in the 8.3.

That's a lot like CB finding a shorty with the 466. It's worth fixing up if it needs it. I've got to be curious about how much it would take to buy that shorty.

Thanks to Josh, the electrics are working. It was that solenoid that wasn't showing any power. He fixed it right up.
The only thing that doesn't work now is the noise kill button, that I can live without!
There must have been some kind of short in the buzzers for the doors, as soon as the electrics went to working the buzzers wouldn't stop. Disconnected them, no harm to the interlock! No buzzers, bus starts and runs great, and almost everything is now working.

The front cover is the next order of business for sure.
That will be a big job.

Find out soon, someone will scoop that kind of bus right out from under you!
If that happens, don't post about a prospective bus publicly in the future.
Lurkers are digging for the info as we speak, I can almost assure you.
Even if its a 5.9, with the right transmission that would still be a killer setup for a short bus.

The two big solenoids- one was corroded badly down in the bottom where the contacts are. He took it out, cleaned it up inside, and its working again. But since the MAIN solenoid was the one with the corrosion, he swapped them for the hell of it.
remember when you told me to check those solenoids- well you were right, and that one that I couldn't get any voltage at was bad. Thanks man!
And a BIG thanks to Josh! He's a hell of a nice guy, that Josh!!

My apologies for the video quality. Making vids is not my forte.
But here's as good a view as I could get of the leak on camera-

One compressor kicks on and off, the other I don't think is doing anything.
The switches are shagged, but both front and rear blow cool air on all the settings.

I get a manual and look into what's needed to fix it. Probably hand tools and a gasket set. And about 20 hours of work.
