Holding off on the coolant flush till I can get some stuff together. Need several gallons of Cat ELC and several of distilled H2O.

I did get up this AM and wash the bus again. That's 3 baths its gotten in like a month!

Loaded up the dog and wife and drove out to our cousins'. I was worried when I couldn't get it to go faster than 54. Then roxy pointed out I had it in 3rd.
I got under there this afternoon and re-greased the driveline. That u-joint sure smoothed things out nicely and I just wana make sure it stays greased.
After that I got some fresh filtered ag diesel off Shaun and changed my fuel filters. Topped off the diesel on the way home.

The bus is really enjoying all this love!

I think the torque arms for an MCI might just cost a bit more

They look easy enough to get at. Any big rig shop should be able to replace the bushings for ya. $$.

Got some helpers volunteering to help sand and prep the bus next Sunday. Gonna keep washing it till then.
Can't wait to get this thing green and white finally.

Celtic beat Aberdeen in a windy and gritty early game today. We had to get up at 5 and drive to Orlando for the 7am kickoff.

The bushings cost about 20 dollars each, , then you have to support the body of the bus to take the weight off the axle, support the axle separately, and only take one bar at a time off, just watched a video of it being done on an older bus

Aye, I remember seeing the old pics of yours. Green and white are a good combo.
We have a newer mom n pop auto paint store just down the street. I plan on going over and having a chat with them some time this week. Gonna borrow a compressor and try prepping and priming here at my house next week.

Took the bus for an evening drive out to where we used to store it.
It sure does seem to appreciate all the love its gotten. Such a smooth riding quiet bus. Roxy drove it for the first time. She did fine.

We've got some real nice coach seats outa Kubla's MCI so we're gonna try to get the floors done asap too so we can get our new seats in. School bus seats are about as uncomfortable as it gets.

Great to hear Roxy is driving it. Time for me to get Deanna in the drivers seat.

Mary's got some seat time but needs more. I feel our spousal units need to be able to at least drive to get help if something happens to the other half. I'm sure another Skoolie could also be able to help in an emergency, I would if I could.

I like how you two think! My wife hates driving automatics!
It may be a challenge to get her to drive the bus...

I'm with your wife. I have never owned a car with an automatic transmission and I'm mildly aggrieved by the fact that my bus is an auto. Fortunately there're enough other things to be worried about driving a bus that I don't really need the entertainment factor of a manual.

Yup, neither of my wife's parents ever owned an automatic, so she's never owned one -- always annoyed by rental car companies only having automatics...

Having driven a '68 Loadstar with 4sp manual and 2sp eaton rear diff, and later the army's ol' deuce n' half. Those trucks have heavy clutches -- I would hate to be dealing with them in heavy traffic now a days.

And of course some will disagree, but for off-road wheelin' an automatic gives better control.

Roxy can't physically work the clutch too well in my Chevy truck. I couldn't imagine her trying to drive a medium duty truck with a clutch very much either.

I've been in contact with Thomas about the build sheet etc. They're going to email me all the info they have on the bus today. Excited to find out how it was ordered.

You really should get your DTNA login and the TBB Portal login. The Freightliner dealer can hook you up. I think Banman got his DTNA login online. I got mine through the parts managerat our local Freightliner dealership.

I'm putting new batteries in. And repainting the battery compartment.

After pulling the batteries and tray I washed the compartment out with dawn.
I'm sanding and repainting the tray and battery hold down bracket.

My batteries are fine but I'd gotten some new ones a couple months ago and since I have plenty of time on my hands figured I may as well swap em and clean up the box.
