Bob - im wondering if somehow the new paint is reacting with the original to cause it to come off.. ive seen AmTran / IC busses with paint peeling off in sheets but havent seen it so much on bluebirds.. but ultimately EVERYONE's paint processes got worse in the last number of years when they all went to water-base (thank you EPA).. ever notice how your old cars with enamel paint were tough? a shopping cart bump on an old car might dent the metal but not scratch the paint.. us kids hit the side of our car in the garage with bike handlebars more than once and it just wiped off.. nowadays you clink your keys into a new car loading up groceries and its scratched!..
GMC for sure had huge paint issues in the 90s.. remember those cars with huge sections of paint just gone?

To hell with the south, biscuits are the only thing on the menu. How do you run out of that?!!? I went to a KFC once that was out of chicken. Um, ....

I wish I had more paint. I'd test a spot further up. 1) paint only 2) sanded and painted 3) xylene and painted 4) xylene, sanded, and painted.

I unbolted the stop arm. Left the base and mechanism in place for now. I need to pull off the air line to it and then cap it. Got a bunch of the school lettering and decals off. Still plenty but got the worst off. And took off the stop sign finally.
I've been browsing chrome bits on Big Rig Chrome. Lots of cool stuff for Freightliner FS.
This thing drives/rides so nice. I can't wait to get it out on the road.
Once its painted and retitled I can even park it at my house in town.
The WC lift is likely coming out if anyone wants it. Haven't committed to that yet though.
We took the bus over to Waffle House with Chris before Christmas and we stopped for fuel on the way back. A young family walks up and the guy asks "How much did you lift it?". I guess its quite an imposing looking rig. Guy couldn't believe we only paid $1625 for it. I still can't quite believe it myself!

You planning on throwing away that stop sign setup? I might have a use for one.

You and Chris need to set up direct deposit. It would make life easier.

Functioning I assume? Leave it until at least the conversion is done. Might come in handy for lifting something heavy in there. If nothing else, a couch.

Nah not this time. Hunger and time drove us to the decision to head over to the WH.
The WC lift is in the way of removing the floor and it works like new but rattles and makes a lot of noise.

Is the wheelchair lift a self-contained electric thing that drives its own hydraulic pump?

Darn it. Went out to the bus and started it up. All was normal. After a couple minutes idling I turned on high idle. After a couple minutes I turned off high idle and got a check engine light flashing. Turned the bus off and it went away. Drove it and it did fine.
Any ideas?

it can be anything that turns the light on.. on navistar there are about 100 codes that can turn on the CEL, im guessing on the CAT its same way.. the fact it went away says fluke to me.. could even be the high idle switch bounced contact or such and tripped it...
every now and then mine lights up when its cold for an ICP out of range error that goes away after a minute or a key cycle.. id say once every 30 or 40 cold morning starts It happens on mine.. since everything else works fine i just go on..

My Thomas once set a code for being under temperature. Which wasn't because of a problem, it was just because it had only been running for a minute. It went away on its own pretty quickly.

we need to figure out how to get CAT software since there are quite a few on here with them, so we can read / program them like the navistars. im pretty sure a scangauge D would let you read the codes on that.
you can read them in the dash if you are new enough to have the digital display in your cluster.
