We can just buy the software? I assumed you had to be an authorized retailer or something.

Anyone got links?

The Cat ET software is downloadable. I don't think it costs anything. But IDK what I'd need to run it.

ive been doing some reading about it.. and just like navistar, they hold the sensitive parameters close to the chest.. to me it looks like you beed to send an engine serial number to CAT who will then create a calibration file for you to flash into your ECM... I domt have one to play on so im only going on what I read in the ECM hacking forums im a member of.. my guess is with the ET software an a nexiq or knockoff we could look at the normal consumer-changeable parameters...

I think that that is correct. You can read engine codes and change some parameters such as the governor limiter fairly easily, but if you need to reprogram an ECM or re-rate for more horsepower you need the consent of cat.

Went out and hung out at the bus some today. Got under it and wiped a ton of grease and grime off the underside while Roxy worked on cleaning it up inside. Wiped off some of the grime on the lower parts of the engine. Engine is clean and mostly dry except the hpop. Those always seem to be a bit oily. Not leaking anything major, but one day I'll have to get around to re-sealing it. Wana keep this machine CLEAN.
Checked all the fluids and the air filter. Looks like it was serviced right before I took it home from GA. Gonna put 2 or 3 thousand miles on it then change it.
I've got gallons of Transynd. Would it benefit the 545 any? Or should I save it for another project another day?

The 545 calls for regular dexron 3, that's what I put in mine. I have the service manual for it on my site.

Yeah, I know bout the dex3. But I've heard of folks running Transynd... Just curious as I've got at least 5 gallons.

I'm still surprised that DEV bus is so tall!

I was tired and stoned last night but we got the dividers and a couple of the seats out yesterday. Left 4 seats for now so we can still drive around with a couple friends for now. Pleasantly surprised that we don't have plywood under the rubber!

The divider thingie behind the driver seat was a PITA to get out. The rest were super easy.

If anyone wants these WC seatbelts let me know. FREE to a good home.

thre DEV is a 78" ceiling sitting on 11R22.5 tires... it is a heavy duty bus... its GVWR is 27500 for a 7 window shorty..

WC seat belts.. I Highly recommend keeping those in any bus anyone plans to use as a utiolity bus.. ie carrying Bikes, tools, fitness equipment, etc... those rails and belts are suiper handy for tieing things down in a bus.. esp if you have the type that are ratcheting with manual release.. they are super cool.. I have a bunch of them from my DEV bus and use them when i need to haul stiuff and dont want it to slide around.

If I still have room in there for a bike or moped I'll just put some eyelets for a ratchet strap. Less bulky and a lot lighter.

Spent two hours on decal and adhesive removal yesterday. Got lucky and the reflective tape came off mostly in one piece.

Someone ain't measuring something right. Probably me but what the hell? I've got the same tires and before the raise, the top of the beacon was about 10' even. And that's with the beacon being 4 or 5 inches itself. 74" ceiling. These buses must be all over the damn place.

That just ain't right either!! Mine is a 14 row bus and it's only 33,500. More than I'll ever need but now I'm feeling a little inadequate. Thx Chris.
