Shuttle bus solar battery location???

I am the wife of a quadriplegic who is trying her hardest to learn how to convert a Ford e350 shuttle bus so we can travel and avoid hotels. I'm curious if the empty compartment above the cab can be used to house our solar battery and all the components that go with it?

And to add to that, what do you plan to run with your solar? Do you have an electrical budget?

We are needing to start out simple then get more panels and batteries when we can afford them. I plan to get a kit with about 100 watt panel and a 100ah lithium ion phosphate battery. The space above the windshield is the width of the bus and about two feet deep.

I think its a fine place to house batteries/solar components. Just have to figure out how to vent the battery compartment is the only hurdle I see. My old shuttle bus had a house battery underneath chassis behind the ford factory cab, maybe a better place. But its your build and I don't know your layout.

Was it where the wheelchair lift battery was stowed?

You could probably do that. I made my electrical panel in there. If you were careful with the layout you could probably fit a couple 100Ah Li batteries up there depending on the other components.

Mine does not have wheel chair lift. Just a house battery for lighting stock from shuttle bus company.
