Step Tread Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the step tread from the passenger entry? I can’t get it to budge.

Mine had screws in the white part on the front edge. They were glued down as well. It had a sheet metal backing to it and was a pain to get out. I started with a flat nail bar and hammer to get the edge up. Then I used a 4' pry/wrecking bar to pry up, slide under, pry up and slide under pry, etc... It bent the stair treads up but I got them off. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I believe some are just screwed in and some are glued. On our Thomas, it was just totally rusted in screws that needed a little help to remove. Once the screw heads were gone (or the screws removed), the steps came up easily.

We did get the screws out, though it took a lot due to the rust. I was expecting them to come off relatively easily after that, but it’s so stuck, I can’t even imagine how much glue they used.
