Slowly but surely getting my electricals installed.....have finished all the undercounter and utility area outlets. Hope to finish the splashboards next weekend.
Due to an incident when I was younger, I've shied away from any electrical work since then, and I'm paying the price now.
"It's even money whether I'll finish getting it all in before I electrocute myself" he said with a smile, but also with plenty of internal apprehension.

I don't blame you on the electrical. It scares me so I respect it. My dad is very good with it and has taught me a lot. But I still stick to the basics. So glad he helped me get everything installed and ran. I have wiring ran and just need to install a few outlets when the interior is finished. Looking good tho! A few outlets go a long ways in a bus!!

Finished installing the rest of my outlets and running the wiring, which allowed me to finish my splashboards, which allowed me to finish my counter dividers. The small section of counter is my 'integrated' nightstand.
Question for any photographers or astral engineers.....my windows are one of my favorite things about my bus, but I can't get a pic of the way they reflect every color in the spectrum.....has it something to do with the way light is reflected in my phone's camera lens?

Still running wire, but the finish line is in sight. Built a door on the interior side of my genny cabinet for access from both sides.....hope to have my gen and battery set-up done by end of April.
My cabinet "double-doors' were starting to sag from their own weight, so I made them lighter. And no luck in finding small enough fridges and freezers to fit in my cabinets, so will need to cut one of my counter tops and re-work it. (I did find some 'Igloo' types that would work, but I'm not spending $4-500 on one).
Had a rear turn signal go bad, so replaced them both. Then I noticed that most of my marker light lenses had holes burned in them from the bulb heat, so replaced all of those as well.......lenses were only $2 each from A Parts Warehouse.
Also made bracket templates for my rear deck/porch.

Needed a break from wiring, so I jumped to my rear deck project. I wanted something easily dis-assembled in case I ran across a strictly-enforced 25' limit, as light as possible, but also strong enough to haul around a 200-250 cc dual sport bike eventually (mountain bike for now). Also plan to leave the middle section of the deck open (or maybe hinged to fold down) to allow access to my rear inside storage.
All the steel, bolts, and braces were about $125 total. The holes in the braces matched up perfectly with the perforated tubes. The 1 1/4" tube will be welded to the flat plates, which will be permanently bolted on via longer bumper bolts and spacers. Drop in the 1" tubes and lock in with lynch pins. Will get everything welded, cleaned up, and painted this week, and mount it next weekend. Then cover it with 1" planks.
All good workshirts must eventually be retired....this one went out in a (literal) blaze of glory while cutting with the angle grinder. I thought the stomach pain was just a bad hot dog, 'til I looked down and saw the flames.

Looking good, man. I guess so many people have been saying "self-immolation" when they mean "self-isolation" it was bound to happen to one of us. So far on this project I've only ignited myself indirectly, by first igniting the lawn my leg was lying in.

A little duct tape over the hole in the shirt and you'll be back at it!!! Can't wait to see how the rear deck turns out!

One of these days we'll find something that duct tape CAN'T fix......probably not in my lifetime, though.

Got my rear deck built.....will let it air out for a few days, then sand and urethane this weekend.
A friend bet me 1" perforated tube wouldn't hold a dirt bike without deflecting (i weigh 240).
Also picked up one of those Harbor Freight 2500lb ATV winches....will be mounting it on the roof deck to lift my (future) dual sport.

That looks great!!!! What type of dual sport are you planning on getting? I'm on my 3rd one right now... It's an older KLR650... A bit heavier than my last one but a comfortable ride...

As small as possible.....given my fat-ass status, that probably means a 250. I'll buy a used one by any of the Big 3 in a couple of years. I don't need speed, just a mule to scout out forestry service roads, prospecting forays, and the occasional jaunt into town for supplies.

That sounds like a good plan! A 250 would be perfect for that. When I built my platform I had a Suzuki DRZ400 and had planned to do the same. Lol never got around to making long trips in the bus tho because I haven't finished it yet!! Keep up your good progress!!

THANK YOU for posting the photos of your deck! I've been fretting over how to build one on my bumper, and I was about to do it the wrong way... now I see there is a simple elegant solution! It looks great, I'll post up when I finish mine.

No problem......I got the idea from this video. If you're building it as permanent, definitely go his way with the triangular bracing. His is much deeper and stronger......but I can dis-assemble mine and throw it in the rear storage area in about 2 minutes, without any tools.
You'll need slightly longer bumper bolts.
