Re: The Dirtybus...
Got home and sat down in the recliner and fell asleep...
Only sleep for about an hour, then went out to start putting in the windows...
Still have some rivets to put in on the outside, but I wanted to get the windows in before finishing it all up...

Re: The Dirtybus...
I have the rub rails that were on the old door... I was also thinking about pulling the lowest rail on the drivers side between the wheel wells and using that... I want to add some of the semi undercarriage diamond plate boxes on the drivers side so that rail would have to go anyways...

Re: The Dirtybus...
Little update...
Got the sheet metal work finished along with sealing the seams... Removed the rest of the glue from the stickers and knocked off most of the rust/flaked paint crap...
Still have a few spots to prep and then I'll start priming... Not really putting to much work into the body, just trying to get it prepped well enough for the paint... If you look down the side of any school bus you'll notice that all the panels are wavy... So it's kinda pointless to try and make it perfect...
Hopefully it'll be painted and ready to put the awnings on next week...
Doesn't look like we've been doing a whole lot, because of how time consuming the little stuff is...:booo: Should start looking like the progress is moving much quicker after paint...:cheer:
You don't realize just how big a bus is until you start sanding one...:redneck:

Re: The Dirtybus...
The windows look awesome. That is just about the same kind, and placement I would like to do on mine. I feel for you on the prep work. I took the week off work to get mine prepped. I would have to say that was the longest week off I have ever took off. I'm not really sure if the the feeling in my fingers will ever come back.

Re: The Dirtybus...
Very cool!! I found it funny, I was kinda debating on colors myself. If I hadn't done black, it was going to be an olive drab.

Looks good. I'm all for greens as long as they're not neon or too bright. Bright colors.... *shivers*

Re: The Dirtybus...
I've got some things in store that will set the look of the bus off... Just you wait...
I've been thinking about a few names for it... Have the acronym on the front and back, then spelled out on the sides... Here's a few I've been considering...
MUCV(Multi-Purpose Utility Command Vehicle) or (Mobile Utility Command Vehicle)...
MMUV(Mobile Multi-Purpose Utility Vehicle)...
MOCV(Mobile Off-Road Command Vehicle)...
Any others you guys can think of???
