Update: the build is really beginning to come together. Which is good because I’ve got a bit of build fatigue. But the house is under contract so have to plow ahead.
I have converted these photos to png but that made them appear sideways so hopefully they will post correctly. If not, I tried!! 😂

Thank you! I’ve already started talking about “our next bus build” to DH. 😂

Your bus build is looking great!!! Moving right along!
I had same issues with pictures. MusiGenesis helped me out with getting mine right. I use metadata remover app, then convert to PNG with another app. Then sometimes I have to rotate the picture and re-save before posting...

That makes sense. It only just started doing this though. I'm using an app to convert from HEIC (iPhone) to PNG. That worked the first time, but now it is turning (some of) them sideways during the conversion. Guess I was too tired last night to think of turning them back manually. I need to get this build done before the heat and humidity of Georgia summer fries my brain!
Thanks, glad you like the build! The next one will definitely benefit from all I've learned doing things the hard way with this one.

I hear you! I feel like I've done things the hard way also on our build... I've definitely shown some people ways not to do it! Lol

Can you write about your ceiling? It looks like you did a carpet option. Did you use plywood for the base?

FWIW these are all still JPEGs. Did you convert to PNG but then upload the original JPEGs?
I usually give out the "convert to PNG" advice, but properly you need to open them in an image editor, rotate them upright if necessary, and then convert to PNG.

Photo dump
We close on the house sale and head out full time on July 7th. We have been hard at work on the bus while packing the house, working the day job and getting as much time as possible with our granddaughter before we leave. There is a lot of finish work to do but we are very close to done with major construction.

Thank you! It’s a Dometic 50216G. I got it from Trumaheaters.com. It’s a little bigger than I was expecting but the burners are big enough for normal pots and pans unlike the tiny Dometic 2 burner we had in our van so I’m pleased.

The work on the inside of the bus looks very nice. I'm not sure how big your water tank is but it looks to be about 6' long. 2' deep and 1.5' tall. If that is close it will hold 18 cu ft of water which equates to over 130 gallons. At 8.34 pounds per gallons that's over 1100 pounds. I'd be concerned that the 4 piece of all thread isn't enough to support the weight and control the pendulum motion of the tank. Also, the plumbers tape will be unable to resist even slight forward motion of the filled tank. Running the all thread through heater hose will help keep it from rubbing through the soft tank material. The over all location of the tank should be fine as there appears to be plenty of ground clearance.

That is a nice conversion. I second Jack's advice. That tank is begging for a failure. My wastewater tank is 115 gallons and knowing that weight when filled, I welded in a super structure to support it for lateral forces when braking and turning. The last thing I want to attend to in the future is the tank as it will be permanently inaccessible unless the bus skin and some steel get cut out of the way. Once the tank is in, there will be more uprights welded in at the skin side of the bus. Congratulations on selling your house! This is a historic time where home values are skyrocketed.

Thank you for your concern. The tank is 33 gallons. A 130 gallon grey tank would be quite the luxury! And require much beefier supports, as you say.

Thanks. The tank is only 33 gallons. It’s a feather compared to yours. Nice setup! Wish we had the space and weight capacity for that big a tank!

Looking awesome! You must be very excited and scared sh*tless all at the same time. It’s funny how we get to this age and start to realize we haven’t seen nearly enough yet. Good for you.
Stay well and journey safe.

Thank you!
Yes, excited. This will actually be our third full time adventure. We’ve spent two years on the road so far. We bought the house in December intending to settle down for a while, not knowing what would happen with COVID, but we still have the itch and with the house value increasing by $30k in six months since purchase, we decided to go for it again!
We are experienced enough with full-timing at this point to know the downsides and stressors and have built those factors into our bus. We also have a cargo trailer that we are converting into an office for hubs so we won’t be stuck in the same space all the time. Hubs still works part time so we get a pretty nice work-liesure balance while seeing the sights.

Didn’t notice this on the first read as I was still marveling over the idea of a 160 gallon grey tank! 😂 Thank for the suggestion! I’ll run in by hubs.
His concern was the possibility of the long nuts working themselves loose from road vibration and he wondered if there was some kind of product we should put on the threaded rods to keep the nuts in place. I’m thinking locking nuts on each end of the threaded rods will be fine.
