Agreed. I got stopped while trying to cross Texas in the north portion and won't go back. That and my vehicle kept overheating from the moment I crossed into that state until I left it. I had to cut my trip short and never reached my destination before turning back.

I am going just north of Wichita Falls. My bus better be 4 tires down not up. Actually Burkburnett is where I am going.

Yep...stay on top of the weather reports. It can turn nasty in a heartbeat.

Welcome to Texas!

My 2 meter ham radio has weather band. It looks like the storm has moved east.

100 miles to go. Tonight I get a motel room and crash and in the morning I pick up my bus.

...and the journey bogs down. I have shredded one of the tires on the trailer. Glad I brought spares. The bus is having a hard time pulling the Ex and I am still in Texas where it is relatively flat. There is no way I can make it back home pulling the Ex behind the bus when I get to NM, AZ and CA. I will be climbing over 7000 feet. I will grenade the trans at a minimum and I don't know how many more tires I will blow up. So my plans have changed. The bus will stay in Texas and I will go home with the Ex and trailer and fly back to get the bus. I thought I was being so clever doing the way I did but nope. The bus moves fine by itself and maybe a couple thousand pounds people but the Ex is a different story.

Some pics here.

That EX looks about the same size as Texas....maybe you should have rented a small car to get there.

Great idea superdave!

Circumstances (that I can't go into) required me to bring the Excursion. Not a big deal other than adding a few hundred to the deal.

You needed to borrow my Little 1830 pound Honda CRX. Put it on a tow bar behind that thing.

Or you should have bought a bigger bus. Lol...

Glad your still in one piece. Thanks for the pics.
