Thomas Vista 3600 - International (1995)

Good morning.

I am selling a 1995 International / Thomas Vista 3600. This is a (5) window activity bus that was used for Church group activities in North Carolina. This vehicle is currently located in O'Fallon, MO.

It's sad that I have decided to sell the bus - but sometimes life makes it's own plans!

- Manufactured in 1994, North Carolina.
- Diesel, T444E Engine. 7.3L Turbo-charged.
- Allison Transmission AT542, automatic.
- 70,064 miles.
- Dual Wheel Rear
- Governor @ 55 MPH.
- Undercarriage finished with spray-liner material to prevent rust (original).
- Recently replaced ECM from International - OEM repair.

This bus is in very good shape. The outside of the vehicle does not have any dents. The undercarriage is completely rust free. (There is some rust on the exhaust and the transmission pan - but this has been explained as a non-issue to me). The engine has been notated to me as "bullet-proof" - and this one in particular only has 70,000 miles. I have kept the bus running for 15-30 minutes every week or so. There is a small amount of surface rust on the removable wall panels, behind the wheel wells, and a little along the interior roof framing.

This bus drives very well. Recently it just traveled from North Carolina to St. Louis, approximately 700 miles. This trip involved mountain driving - and I have to be honest, the power of the bus is incredible. This vehicle is terrific at climbing. I averaged between 15-17 MPG engaging the governor around 2,200 RPM. The engine temperature remained consistently around 200 degrees Fahrenheit, driving for days straight in July temperatures. The turn radius of the vehicle is also very impressive, this can maneuver very well. The bus starts very well and can idle at proper speeds without hesitation. I have cleaned the exterior roof of the bus, which had mildew build-up. I have not been able to clean the outside exterior in full - but the paint shines up to a beautiful, clear, sharp blue and white.

The interior of the bus has been dis-mantled and prepared for construction. This was intended to become a "skoolie", or an RV. It would have been an incredible project - but life is leading me in a different direction.

This purchase will come with the following;

- All user's manuals from Thomas
- All user manuals from international.
- All service manuals from international.
- All wiring diagrams.
- (1) Gallon of "magnetic" metal bonding paint for protecting the interior floor from surface rust.
- (1) full tank of Diesel fuel.
- Road cones.
- All screws and bolts that were removed from the interior.

I’m currently converting this same model bus, only it’s a 1996 with 200,000 miles…and usually a low to empty fuel tank $$

Just going to agree that this vehicle is absolutely amazing! Mine doesn’t have wheel wells, and is just under 100 sf of flat interior living space.

The engine, transmission and everything are solid. Love this style skoolie, has a lot of life reliability and life in them with regular maintenance.

Mine was found in Washington and with all original seats, etc. it’s been a fun learning process converting.

For someone that will see this through to its full potential, I see this price as reasonable…given how many miles are left on the “million mile engine”.

Well,

Guys - it looks like life is full of surprises.
I'll be converting this bus into a little dream machine.
I'm excited to create something of really good quality.

7.3L turbo diesel, allison tranny, 70K miles your off to a good start! it looks cool with that snub nose. i even like the color scheme. it just needs some TLC.

I’ve saved all the metal paneling, because it’s such good material. They have some really awesome vents and applications that could come in handy.

Also - built a work station for the build… it was desperately needed. Now I have an area where work can take place.

I don't think so - some people have posted some absolutely enormous pics here (they show up with an "image resized" bar on top which expands to full size when you click it).

That is some serious dedication to floor prep. I would have probably just left it as it was and built my subfloor on top of it - it's already survived 27 years in near-mint condition.
