Boy, you guys really are twins! I love the look of the short buses, plus the flexibility in terms of parking and access. But two people living in a short bus full time?! Seems pretty tight to me, but then again y'all originally shared a womb, so I guess you're used to living in close quarters with each other!

Redneck paint shelter: string a big tarp above the bus to keep the glop from the tree off.

You DO want to paint everything above the windows white or silver.

Also...that's a Carpy...are the roof welds OK?

I'm really interested to see how sustainable living like this is. Frankly, after all the work we've done so far... I regret not getting a full sized Skoolie. Much easier on the layout...

Angie and I have been living in the bus for 4 months now and honestly it feels like home. Sometimes I regret not getting a full size bus because the shuffling things around everyday gets old.. but being able to drive around easily (at least once we've dropped the trailer with our host) and park where ever has been invaluable. If I could change anything on ours... I would move the veg. oil tank underneath the bus as I had originally planned, then we would have room for one of those little cast iron wood heaters. Sleeping in the cold is one thing, but being cold day and night for weeks is miserable.

Also, if you haven't figured out what you want to do for your fridge, our solar set up has been the best investment I think I made for this project. 2 90watt panels, 2 90amh batteries and a 12v chest style fridge. Installed it last Sept and haven't touched it or had any problems since. May not be the cheapest route but it powers itself and we've never run out of room for food in it. You can look into the stick-on flexible panels too if you don't want to bolt on the framed kind. Anyway, best of luck!

I think my bus is the exact same kind as yours, same size, except mine is a '92. And your upholstery looks almost exactly the same as mine, too! I didn't see this thread until today. Nice bus!

How long did it take to paint the outside? I want to paint mine, but I have the same problem with trees that drop crap all over, and it's also parked in the street because it doesn't fit in our driveway. I was thinking about driving it up to my brother's place up north because he's got a lot of space I could use to paint, but I'm wondering if it's something that could be done in a weekend.

I got my led bulbs from this guy on ebay. They come from china but mine arrived in a week or two.

The bulb in the picture replaces an 1156 single filament incandescent bulband draws 2 or 3 watts if memory serves.

My side-by-side test showed the LED bulb giving off noticeably more light than the 12 watt incandescent bulb. Not a huge difference but a great deal considering I'm getting more light for 1/4 the power. I'm sold on LED lighting and when the prices come down I'll be converting my house lights too.
