I looked into the feasability of using WVO in a bus more than 20-years ago. I was just about ready to cut a check to make the conversion when I looked into the fuel supply issue.

It is one thing to walk into a McDonalds with a five gallon pail and ask for WVO to fuel up a VW Rabbit or M-B 300D. It is a whole different thing to walk up with a truck with a tank on it and ask for WVO to fill up a 200-gallon bus tank.

I realized that in order to make WVO work in a bus I was going to have to invest in a huge amount of infrastructure (tanks, filtering systems, heating systems, collection vehicle, lots of pumps and hosed) in order to keep the bus on the road.

And then I ran into the wall of no one was giving away WVO for free any longer. It was no longer a waste material that business owners were paying someone to take away. Over time WVO became a valuable commodity and was no longer free for the taking. Once you had to start paying to take away the WVO the viability of the exercise dimmed greatly.

Without considering the difficulties of using WVO in a diesel engine, if you don't have a good, clean, and reliable source of WVO you are pretty much dead in the water in regards to using WVO as a motor fuel.
