Dash stopped working

Our check engine light came on and flickered off now about three times. Along with that the dash would not work. Gages stay at 0. But ABS light and air break pressure gage works. Any ideas if this is related to the check engine problem or if the dash is related to the flickering engine light.

Is there a common ground for all the gauges? If so (common)...it would be worth checking.

my battery has 2 powerleads from the hot side. 1 goes straight to the starter, the other powers the dash and everything else.

my bus runs just fine when the electric (the second lead) is not connected.

like tango said: check your grounds

and check the hot side of your battery

I'll have my husband look for that, runs although the dash is not engaged. So maybe the power leads, I-10 going through Louisanna shook us to the bone. Guessing it shook a few wires loose as well. Do you think these cords loose would effect the engine light or is this a separate issue? Bus seems to be running strong. We're about 12 hrs from home yet. Fingers crossed we make it without another break down.
