This is the point in my build thread where I cut the holes over the tank: https://www.skoolie.net/forums/f11/r...tml#post371452 and you can sort of see where the filler tube goes in.

This is where I started to clean up the tank and you can see things better: https://www.skoolie.net/forums/f11/r...tml#post372528 . I never had any idea what I was looking at exactly, just cleaned stuff up as best I could.

Do you have a pic of the outside fuel access door ?
Mine has some pretty big gaps and was never meant to be water tight ... I have the cage welded and bolted up under neath the bus and am trying to run fuel filler hose and fuel lines today ...
just thinking what to do about weather proofing the door

I definitely like the 100gal tank centered between the rails behind the axle.

How many feet of overhang do you have with the shortie?
Also my full size bus being hydraulic brakes -- I hadn't thought about the amt of space required to have redundant air-tanks for air-brakes -- 4 air tanks does take up a lot of space...

I think this shows why it's waterproof. The hole goes through the outer skin and then that second layer inside (with the grommet around the round hole) is the chair rail. Not much water will get past the outer door because of how it's constructed, and then what does get through would drip off that inner layer. My bus showed no signs of leaking through here.

Just realized I can't get this cover up right now, because the foam board and the chair rail lip together prevent it from coming out. I'm going to have to cut the foam a bit here.

What’s awesome is this is kind of what I had in mine . Going through chair rail then maybe on the I side of the void I’ll box out a little area where if water did get inside it wouldn’t run and just drip through drain holes
