Grease converting company in Corvallis, Oregon

I'm not up on what you guys are concocting over here on the greasy branch of the
forum, but one of my Kinetic Racing partners sent me this link to a story about a
grease converting company in Corvallis, Oregon. They make high-quality-high-dollar
stuff, but the story is well enough written that you'll enjoy just reading it.

Pfffft....kits......

I wouldn't mind seeing their place though, mostly because Corvallis (and the rest of Oregon) really is pretty. If it weren't for the fact that I'm just too darned used to being within 5 miles of a lake at any given time I might consider moving there from Minnesota.

I used to know Nate when I lived in Corvallis. He was a great help when I converted a mercedes myself. So you don't need to buy a kit if that's not what you want. He has the componants there to cobble your own system together, and he knows what he's talking about.

I love Oregon! Who needs lakes when you have rivers and ocean? anyway it rains enough to make you feel like you were swimming in a lake. lol. Sorry I know it was an off topic responce but I had too anyway.

But in Oregon I couldn't enjoy a dumping of 8 inches of snow on April 3rd or ice one the lakes that's still plenty thick enough to walk or drive a sled on.

I stand corrected. We ended up with 12 inches.

In some areas of Oregon. They still have tons of snow. Like the awesome mountains they have. And who in their right mind would really want to walk or dive on a lake. I like solid ground or wet water

Though I will say I love Minn. too.. The lake are cool up there you just wont catch me walking on the ice...

Why walk when you can drive? 36+ inches of ice scares ya? Snowmobiles do just fine on open water...not that I would know

New meaning to the term water skiing! Ask any high-platform diver; the firmness of
water is proportional to the speed you hit it with. Here we bent the front suspension
on "Henry Ford Goes Surfing" all to heck. I was hoping to roll on top of the water
with the relatively light front axle, but we weren't going fast enough for that, so...


You can see some of the result in my avatar. That's AFTER I jumped in the water
and straightened the tie rods.

I've always been meaning to ask about your avatar. I thought stuff looked a little goofy, but I didn't want to say it...now we have the rest of the story.

Oh yeah...and WSA Watercross is perhaps the COOLEST form of racing I've seen. The pro-mods actually start with their skis under water.

Gosh, go ahead and say it! If I were easily offended, I wouldn't be so active in
a Patently Stupid sport!

Here is another shot of the same Water Entry. Notice the left front wheel is turned sharply
to the left. The right front wheel was turned just as sharply to the right! Both tie rods
buckled, and the (lawn tractor) spindles bent upward. I straightened the tie rods in
the water. Then, when we got back on land, several other racers came over to
help fix the spindles. Somebody found a fence post or some such steel pipe,
which we used to bend the spindles back. It was all very Glorious!



This sport is big in Corvallis also (remember Corvallis? ) -- third weekend
of July.
