Plan for 55 Gallon WVO Filtering unit

http://www.greasecar.com/product_detail.cfm?prodID=19

Can Anyone experienced in WVO conversion give me a list of parts and supplies that i would need to make one of these myself, i think $800 is a lil overpriced, mainly the pumps and models and where they can be found for the lowest possible price and an explanation of how they work, i know i am asking alot but i am a newbie to the oil scene and would appreciate the info thanks guys

Well...you could try looking at my plans that I drew up rather quickly. Of course mine is still conceptual. I'll let you know in 2 weeks how well it works out.

It's under the WVO album rather obviously.

Here is one way to do it. I did this and it worked but had to get out of the oil collection thing for a while.

Get a metal 55 gallon drum (preferably with a lid rather than the closed type). Cut two holes in the lid and hang two filter bags from the lid (eg: from http://www.filterbag.com). Cut the holes small enough that the bag unfolds completely but the plastic ring wont fall through.

Place a livestock water heater in the bottom of tank such as this one to use in settling and dewatering:

Buy a pump from Northern Tool such as this: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...t_6970_508_508
or something cheaper that you can mount to one of the threaded holes in the drum:

Pour the oil through the filterbags into the drum. Turn on the drum heater and heat to 100 degrees and allow to settle for a few days. Then pump from the top of the drum or at least allow 2-3 inches of room between the pump hose and the bottom of the drum to leave the crud in the drum.
