Propane running skoolie

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a 2014 Ford E450 Micro Bird G5, with Roush Propane system.

The bus is in a good shape but rusty from underneath, and, most important, the propane tank is rusty too.

My questions are:

1. Can I replace with any other tank?
The OEM propane tank, 41 gallons, is expensive, this is insane.
Also needs replacement a regulator, I guess, it's called, right next to the tank, due to rust too.

2. If it's possible to replace with any other tank, is it safe to install an additional tank within the frame, as shown on a picture? Perhaps, outskirt installation is allowed, would be easier that way.

3. Any experience dealing with Roush systems?
I understand that they are making money on their proprietary parts, just wanna explore the options.

4. FL state doesn't require re-certification of propane systems, however, I've lived in Toronto, ON for 16 years, had had a propane running van, and the special sticker is required at the fueling station, otherwise no service.
I'm planning to travel, wanna find out if the same restrictions applicable at some other states?

Thank you in advance for any suggestion, guys!

Alex

If you haven't already bought it, don't.

Rust is one issue, which you should also avoid, but you'll make your life tougher running an alternate fuel.

Imagine running out of fuel - do you have to be towed in to refuel? Go with gas or diesel, make it easier on you.
